Abstract

Initial Sway Imperfection is one of the stability requirements for structural steel design structure, as explained in SNI 1729-2015 the specification of steel building. It was also mentioned that initial sway imperfection can be simulated by giving notional load on the structure of steel building model which is 0,002 of the gravity load on each floor. However, consultants and practitioners never apply initial sway imperfection in the calculation of stability, even though it is very important in buckling prediction, especially in column section. This research was compared drift and capacity ratio in column section, with and without initial sway imperfection using 3D model of 7 floors building. The method that we used is DAM (Direct Analysis Method). In the first model without notional load and the second model by applying notional load. The results shows that the biggest drift value in the X direction increase from 0,2 mm to 135,2 mm, and in the Y direction increase from 0,1 mm to 55,4 mm, the capacity ratio increase from 0,04% to 16,73%. The drift value with initial sway imperfection exceeds the limits allowed by SNI 1726-2012, therefore it needs to enlarge column section. At the same time, the capacity ratio with initial sway imperfection is within the limit which is less than 1. Keywords: Initial Sway Imperfection, Notional Load, Deviation, Capacity Ratio.

Abstract

Steel beams are susceptible to initial geometric imperfections due to improper fabrication and installation processes. Consequently, long steel beams without stiffening are prone to bending due to lateral torsion. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of variations in the initial geometric imperfections of Single Curvature-Moment (SCM) on the moment, total displacement, displacement in the X direction (U1), displacement in the Y direction (U2), and twist. This study used an RH profile with a compact flange and web. The boundary condition used is a simple beam with an initial geometric imperfection due to single moment-curvature (SCM) bending. The variations used are the initial geometric imperfections values of SCM 0 mm (without initial geometric imperfections), SR5 (with initial geometric imperfections of 5 mm), and SR10 (with initial geometric imperfections of 10 mm). Initial geometric imperfections of SCM in steel beam decreased moment capacities up to more than 2% in elastic conditions and 12% in plastic states. This SR10 beam is also a beam that has a displacement of the X-axis (U1 = -203,960 mm), a displacement of the Y-axis (U2 = -255,615 mm), and the most significant twist (28,179 °). Keywords: Buckle, Initial Geometric Imperfections, Single Curvature-Moment.

Abstract

Human resources are seen as an essential asset in a company because man is a dynamic resource and always needed in every process of production of goods and services. Therefore, this research was performed to analyze the influence of Jobs’ Characteristics and Work Stress on Turnover Intention. This research uses Quantitative Data by Questionnaire Method. The result of data processing shows that Work Stress has a stronger influence on Turnover Intention than Jobs Characteristics. Both of these variables impact amounted to 0.65 of the employee turnover intentions. It can calculate that determination coefficient 42.3%, which means that the variable Jobs Characteristic and Work Stress have contributed amounted to 42.3% of the employee turnover intentions, while other variables determine 57.7%. The indicator most influence on turnover intention in construction employees was the differences in value between the company and its employees.
