Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the Snowball Throwing learning model can improve students' cognitive learning outcomes in quadrilateral and triangle material class VII A of Middle School 3 Kepahiang. The type of research used in this study is class action research the model of Kurt Lewin through four stages, namely: planning, action, observation and reflection. The research subjects were all students of class VII A of SMP 3 Kepahiang consisting of 26 students. This research was conducted from january 23 to February 13, 2019. Data collection techniques in this study were observations and tests, with research instruments observation sheets and test sheets. Data analysis techniques in this study used descriptive statistics, namely by percentage. Based on the observation sheet, the teacher's activity in the third cycle of teacher activity is classified as a good criterion and, every aspect has been in sufficient complexity. Based on the results of the evaluation test in Cycle III classical completeness was . Based on the results of the third cycle that has met the indicators of success, the research was stopped. Thus it can be concluded that the application of the Snowball Throwing learning model is well implemented and can improve students' cognitive learning outcomes in quadrilateral and triangular material in class VII AKepahiang 3 Public Middle School.Keywords: Snowball Throwing, Cognitive Learning Outcomes

Abstract

The purpose of the study was found out the differences in students' mathematical communication skills learning model based on problem learning, the cooperative Jigsaw type and conventional learning model. The learned model which the results was better differences in students' mathematical communication between learning models problem based learning (PBL), the learned models cooperative jigsaw type, and the models conventional junior high school students. This type of the research was quasi experiment. This research was conducted at SMP N 10 of Bengkulu at VIII grade 1st  in the academic year 2017/2018. The population of this study was all students of the class VIII consisting of 5 classes. The sample of the research was chosen at randomly that VIII A was given a learning model cooperative jigsaw type, and class VIII D was given a conventional learning model. Mathematical ability of the students gathered with mathematical communication ability test, This test consists of pre-test and post-test. The data was analyzed with one-way ANOVA, followed by BNT test. The results showed that there were differences between students' mathematical communication skills in PBL models,jigsaw models and conventional models. The test was results further suggested was not the difference in the ability of the differences between PBL with Jigsaw. While conventional and jigsaw, PBL with conventional differences.based on the average score of the three models of mathematical communication skills learning, PBL learning model provides results of mathematical communication skills was better. Keywords: communication ability, problem based learning, jigsaw

Abstract

The new paradigm of learning has placed the students to participate actively in the learning process. One of the consequence is that the learning process must use the variative methods, not only about the transfer of knowledge from teacher to students. This research is more being focused on the objective of the research in action in the class to improve ability of mathematical understandingof students which performed in implement method by usingConcept Mapping. This research used classroom action research ini class VII B SMPN 15 Bengkulu city. This research was observation action in the class that done by callaborative between the researcher and teachers. In collecting the data used by some instrument suchs interview, observation sheet of teachers and students, and essay sheet of mathematical reasoning ability.Based on observation, the result of this research was, in learning by using learning method Concept Mapping was good. Activity of teachers and student show good category. The result of reasoning ability test in cyclewas ability of students show enought category (50% of 22 students) and in the next cycle improve become good category (100% of 22 students). Keywords: Concept Mapping, mathematical understanding

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan yang signifikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Mind Mapping , model pembelajaran Treffinger dan model pembelajaran konvensional; dan untuk mengetahui model pembelajaran yang mana lebih baik antara model pembelajaran Mind Mapping , model pembelajaran Treffinger,  dan model pembelajaran konvensional dalam pencapaian  kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksprimen semu. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP N 02 Lebong dan sampel penelitian ini diambil 3 kelas yang diambil secara acak kelas, yaitu kelas VII A sebagai kelas ekspremen 1 diberi model pembelajaran Mind Mapping, kelas VIII C sebagai kelas eksprimen 2 diberi model pembelajaran Treffinger, dan kelas VIII B sebagai kelas kontrol diberi pembelajaran konvensional. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji Anava Satu Jalur (One Way Anava ) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji  BNT. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa antara yang memperoleh model pembelajaran Mind Mapping, model pembelajaran Treffinger, dan model pembelajaran konvensional. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa melalui model pembelajaran Mind Mapping dan model pembelajaran Treffinger lebih baik dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional,  sedangkan pasangan perlakuan antara model pembelajaran  Mind Mapping dengan  model pembelajaran Treffinger tidak memberikan hasil kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis yang berbeda.Kata kunci: Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis, Mind Mapping, Treffinger.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' mathematical literacy skills through problem-based learning using a clinometer. This research method is quasi-experimental with the research design used is one group pretest-posttest analysis on the initial test obtained results which indicate that the two classes are normally distributed and homogeneous, this means that the two classes are in the same condition or circumstances, namely the ability mathematical literacy so that it can be treated. The final test is also normally distributed and homogeneous, but there is an average difference from the aspect of mathematical literacy skills taught using problem-based learning and conventional learning models. Then the analysis was carried out through the one-way ANOVA hypothesis test, it was obtained that there were significant differences in the two classes. Then proceed with the Scheffe test to see the differences between the two classes, it turns out that there are differences in students' mathematical literacy abilities in the experimental class and the control class. This means that the mathematical literacy ability of the problem-based learning model using a clinometer is higher than the mathematical literacy ability of students using conventional learning models.
