Abstract

AbstractAs a traditional education institution, Madarijul Ulum Islamic Boarding School still exists in the community and consistently teaches kitab kuning in line with the conception of thought of its establishment and main purpose, which is to educate students to understand the religion (tafaqquh fiddin). Through the qualitative approach, it is found that in addition to still maintain the kitab kuning learning system using wetonan and sorogan methods, Madarijul Ulum Islamic Boarding School made some changes as improvements in teaching Islamic books. The core issue of changes is not about the understanding adopted by the board of school, but rather to the learning process to be performed by the addition of learning facilities, learning systems, learning stage setting, determination of Islamic books for every stage, the addition of non-salaf books (kitab kuning), and others.AbstrakSebagai lembaga pendidikan tradisonal, Pesantren Madarijul Ulum masih tetap eksis di tengah masyarakat dan konsisten mengajarkan kitab-kitab kuning sesuai dengan khittah berdirinya dan tujuan utamanya yaitu mendidik santri untuk memahami agama (tafaqquh fiddin). Melalui pendekatan kua­litatif, ditemukan bahwa selain masih tetap mempertahankan sistem pembelajaran kitab-kitab dengan metode wetonan dan sorogan, Pesantren Madarijul Ulum melakukan beberapa perubahan sebagai pe­nyempurnaan dalam mengajarkan kitab-kitab. Inti perubahan bukanlah menyangkut masalah paham yang selama ini dianut oleh pimpinan pesantren, tetapi lebih kepada proses pembelajaran dengan cara dilakukan penambahan sarana pembelajaran, sistem pembelajaran, pengaturan tahapan pembelajaran, penetapan kitab-kitab untuk setiap tahapan, penambahan kitab-kitab non salaf (kitab kuning), dan lain­nya.
