Abstract

Force plate is a tool that is very useful for knowing the amount of force produced by an athlete. This tool can help trainers or sports researchers in the physical development of an athlete. This research is a development of a tool for measuring the force that calculates collision forces while assessing the characteristics of a strain gauge-based transducer for flat punch moves from Pencak Silat. The analysis was done theoretically to determine the characteristics of this measuring instrument and experimentally to figure out the validation of the measuring instrument. This impact force measurement instrument has been made and can absorb about 2000N. It has sensitivity about 0.0981 mV/N, has linearity deviation about 1.169 mV (9,431), and has hysterisis percentation about 5,3%. The result of validation test that has it biggest deviation about 2.99 N. Thus, this tool can be used to measure the impact force which was produced from the Pencak Silat flat punch moves.

Abstract

The damage of cutting effect the product a lot, thus reducing the quality and dimensional change of the product. This research aims to monitor damage of cutting tool throught the accelerometer and strain gauge sensors on the process of turning Rod hydraulic cylinder SAE 1045 using cutting carbide coated. The machining process is carried out by the variation of cutting parameters, depth of cut 0,5 and 1,0, feed rate o,5 and 0,7 mm/min, and constant cutting speed of 1300 rpm. This experiment is conducted on three cutting tool condition they are new, medium wearing (0,15 mm) and critical wearing (0,3 mm). The censors used are accelerometer and strain gauge which are placed in the holder. The result show that kurtosis, RMS and standard deviation parameters are influenced by the tooling condition. Have the relation toward the wearing change of tooling, this case is showed by the existence of progress from the new, medium and critical tooling test. As for amplitude strain gauge signal also showed a significant change when there is damage to the wearing tools. This showed that the bigger wearing happening the higher signal out going.

Abstract

The most commonly used technique to separate oil and cake from J. curcas seeds is mechanical extraction. It uses simple tools such as a piston and a screw extruder to produce high pressure, driven by hand or by engine. A single screw extruder has one screw rotating inside the barrel and materials simultaneously flow from the feed to the die zone. The highest oil yield can be obtained by a well-designed oil press as well as finding the optimum conditions for all parameters involved during the extraction process. The influence of the parameters in a single screw extruder was studied using finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics simulation with ANSYS POLYFLOW. The research  focused on predicting  the velocity, pressure and shear rate in the metering section that influenced the screw rotational speed and mass flow rate. The obtained results revealed that increasing the screw rotational speed will increase the pressure, velocity and shear rate. Meanwhile, increasing the mass flow rate results in decreasing the pressure while the velocity and shear rate remain constant.

Abstract

Purpose: This research paper explores an integrated solution for managing tofu waste from the SOLO Tofu Factory. By combining anaerobic digestion technology with urban organic farming, the study aims to provide a sustainable waste management model that benefits the factory and the surrounding community. Method: The study utilized mixed methods, including qualitative interviews and quantitative on-site observations. Anaerobic digestion technology was employed for waste treatment, and its effluent was analyzed for its potential as a bio-fertilizer. A sustainable urban organic farming system was developed, utilizing treated waste for cultivation. Data analysis involved qualitative thematic and quantitative measurement analysis. Practical Applications: The integrated approach offers helpful solutions. It provides the factory with an eco-friendly waste management solution, reducing pollution. The urban organic farming system promotes sustainable agriculture and remediates land, making it cultivable. This model serves as a blueprint for similar industries, fostering community development and environmental awareness. Conclusion: The research demonstrates the effectiveness of integrating anaerobic digestion and urban organic farming for tofu waste management. This approach offers practical, scalable solutions, reducing pollution, promoting sustainable agriculture, and fostering community development.
