Abstract

Removal rate of COD varies with COD volume loading, aeration time and or flow rate of incoming waste water. Anaerobic process showed that the higher flow rate was continued the lower COD removal was yielded, whereas the aerobic pointed out that COD removal was obtained higher and higher as the flow rate was increased. Although coagulant was not used for this treatment, the experiment appeared to indicate a good result where average COD removal rate for Q1• Qz. Qjand Q4 are 93.8, 93.2, 91.0, and 92.4 % respectively.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian pengolahan limbah menggunakan system bioreactor dua Jase. Bioreaktor dioperasikan selama I 02 hari. Analisis air terolah adalah tiga hari sekali dimulai pada hari ke 15 operasi. Hasilnya diketahui bahwa pH berkisar antara ( 7, 70 - 8,43 ), ORP ( -439 - -462 )mV, dan konsentrasi MLSS pada bagian biobed reaktor metanogenik nampak semakin lama semakin banyak: Laju penyisihan COD berkisar antara ( 76, 76 - 98,68% ). Penyisihan tersebut tidak dipengruhi oleh fluktuasi dan/atau meningkatnya konsentrasi COD. Semakin lama bioreaktor dioperasikan semakin tinggi kandungan COD yang disisihkan.

Abstract

Diantara berbagai teori transfer masa yang dapat digunakan untuk menjelaskan mekanisme transfer gas, salah satu yang sangat umum digunakan adalah teori dua-selaput. Transfer gas dapat didefinisikan sebagai proses dimana gas dipindahkan dari suatufase kefase lainnya, biasanya dari zat yang berbentuk gas ke Jase cair. Penerapan yang sangat umum dari transfer gas dalam bidang pengolahan air limbah adalah transfer oksigen pada pengolahan air limbah secara biologis. Beberapa hal mengenai transfer oksigen dan proses aerasi dan kaitannya dengan teori dua-selaput, dibahas dalam tulisan ini.

Abstract

A study on effect of various COD concentration of soy-bean sauce wasteweter treatment using UASB type bioreactor has been conducted. The result exhibited that over 90 % of the COD could be removed. Removal rate of COD was not significantly affected by elapsing time of the treatment and for flucatuating COD concentration, however, it appeared to poin out a significant difference as a result of increasing COD level of the feed solution. The higher the COD level was fed, the more the amount of COD was eliminated. The generated gas volume was also raised as the COD Concentration was increased.
