Abstract

Female teenagers are expected to be able to take good care of themselves. Expecially when they are having their period (menstruation). Otherwise, they while easily get viruses or bacteria. This is descriptive research with cross-sectional approach. It’s purpose is to describe the correlation of knowledge, parents roles and good care practices of female students of SLTPN  6 Jambi when they are having their periods. There are 532 altogheter 133 (25%) of them are randomly selected as the sample of this research which is conducted from 11-13 of September 2007. Primary data is taken from the sample through questionaire. Univariate analysis reveals that 85% of the respondents have good knowledge; 42,1 of them have good care practices. Furthermore, technique also reveals chi-square is a significant correlation between good knowledge and good care practices with P value = 0,004 (P value < 0,05). The analysis also reveals that parent roles significantly correlate with good care practices with P value = 0,037 (p value = 0,05). From the result of the analysis it can be concludes that some female students of SLTPN 6 Jambi do not take care of themselves when they are having menstruation. So, it is suggested that SLTPN 6 Jambi give more education to its female students about the importance of good care practices during menstruation.

Abstract

One of the main causes of womens death is preeclampsia. This desease is indicated by chypertention, oedema and proteinuria. Unfortunately,women do not have enough knowledge about the symptoms of this descase. Consequently, it is always too late to take necessary measures resulting other complication. This research aims to identify the risks of serious preeclampsia on pregnant women in Raden mMataher Hospital of Jambi. This research is an analytical one with case control design. The population was pregnant women with serious preeclampsia hospitalized in the miduwi fery ward of Raden Mattaher Hospital (case) and women with normal pergnancy  visiting midwifery policlime of Raden Mattaher Hospital (control). The sample was selected randomly. This research was conducted from february untill march in 2008 using secondary data which was analyzed with univariate and bivariate techniqnes the result of the analysis shows that 74,1% of the sample have no risks of age (20-35 years), 62,4 % happens on multigravida, pregnancy age >28 weeks, 86,9 % have no history of the desease. It also shows that womens age their prenancy age and history of the desease significantly correlate with serious preeclampsia. From the finding, it can be concluded that there are many factors that effect serious preeclampsia. There fore, doctors and paramedics of Raden Mattaher Hospital should improve their service in the hospital espicially in the midwifery word. It is also suggested that they do 7 T for antenatal care patient with and without risky factors because regular antenatal examinations is significant for preeeclampsia prevention.

Abstract

Many postpartum women experience urinary incontinence due to an injury during delivery or it is called pressure urinary incontinence because it is closely related to vaginal delivery due to the lowering of the baby's head, causing pelvic floor dysfunction. In Indonesia, the incidence of urinary incontinence in postpartum mothers is 34.1% in the first 6 weeks postpartum and decreases to 27.7% after the postpartum period. Exercise that aims to strengthen the periurethral and vaginal muscles of the mother so that they can function optimally again. This research is a type of pre-experimental research using the One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The population were all postpartum mothers in PMB Nuri Jambi City, which amounted to 119 respondents (in January-March), taking samples using the Accidental Sampling technique as many as 41 respondents. This research was conducted at PMB Nuri Jambi City in June 2021 - July 2021. The data processing in this study used univariate and bivariate analysis and the Shapiro Wilk statistical test because the data were normally distributed with p-value > 0.05. The results of this study using the T test obtained p-value = 0.000 <0.05. Which shows there is an effect of Kegel exercises on urinary incontinence before and after being given Kegel exercises. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that Kegel exercises can prevent urinary incontinence in postpartum mothers.
