Abstract

This article aims to analyze the leadership role of the village Penghulu Kampung of Rempak, Siak Regency, Riau in promoting the development of the religious sector of the community. At present, Kampung Rempak is known as a village that has succeeded in realizing community development, especially in the religious field in the Siak region, with various achievements. The research method uses a qualitative-descriptive approach with data collection techniques using interviews and documentation studies. To maintain the reliability and credibility of the data, a triangulation was carried out and then analyzed using interactive analysis techniques. The results showed that the Penghulu Rempak leadership was central to the development of the religious sector of the community. The leadership role includes the roles of a decision-maker, implementer, communicator, and evaluator of religious programs with the support of local governments, village officials, religious leaders, and the community.
