Abstract

The purpose of the research in this movie is to determine the cause of verbal bullying and the effect of verbal bullying in the movie The Greatest Showman, directed by Michael Gracey. This method of research uses a qualitative approach. To analyze the movie the writer watched the movie several times and used the theory of books or online journals. In The movie The Greatest Showman there is a verbal violent scene such as (1) Taunting (2) A feeling of resentment (3) Hostility (4) Contempt. While the effect of bullying against victims is (1) Decreasing confidence (2) Feeling intimidate (3) Feeling isolated (4) Prolonged depression (5) Feeling dissimilar (6) Feeling stress. The results of this research are (1) the cause of verbal bullying are hostility,A sense of lack od confidence anf attentian seeking, A feeling of resentment, the Negative influence of media.(2) The Effect of bullying are Feeling disimilar and Decreasing confidence.

Abstract

Teaching English in this Pandemic period requires an interesting method and teaching Vocabulary using Educational games for young learners becomes interesting. This study aims to describe the application of electronic word guessing game, students' vocabulary mastery, and achievement motivation after the implementation of educational games. Researchers collect research data through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The results showed that: the benefits of implementing electronic word guessing game were: Making the learning process fun; it activates students to engage; it integrates pronunciation and meaning; it helps students to memorize vocabulary. This research was also conducted to find out the students’ vocabulary mastery before and after electronic word guessing game implementation. The result of the pre-test and post-test show that the students’ mean score on the pre-test was 6.00 and it improved to 7.50 on the post-test. While the problems are: the need for adequate facilities and some technical obstacles that occur during its implementation. And most of the students are very interested in learning vocabulary using electronic word guessing game..

Abstract

This research is an action research that aims to improve students' speaking skills using Youtube media. Discussing how Youtube as a learning medium can improve students' speaking skills. During the Covid 19 pandemic, formal schools are still carrying out the learning process online and only courses are allowed to study face-to-face because there are fewer students in one class, therefore this research was conducted in the Easy English course. Students' speaking ability on the Easy English course is still low especially at the level of children. English course students have difficulty in speaking skills. The students are bored with the old method of improving their speaking skills. The data were collected through speaking assessment and interviewin classroom action research. The writer used Youtube video and students watched and practiced it. Each class consisted of 7 to 10 students, the writer made three cycles and gave a score for each cycle according to the speaking size. The results of the research point out that the students could improve their speaking skills by using Youtube videos. In the first cycle, the students' average score is 65 points, the second cycle is 75 points, and the last cycle is 85 points.

Abstract

In terms of global distribution, English is the most frequently spoken language. Therefore, in order to communicate at an international level, the student's communication abilities are required. There are numerous approaches to improve language skills, each with its own distinct set of characteristics. The development of music streaming apps such as Spotify ushered in a new way of listening to music. Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon founded Spotify in 2008. Spotify was called after a sentence that Ek and Lorentzon randomly blurted. Ek misheard the phrase "Spotify," and they assume the name is a play on "spot" and "identify". Spotify is a music and audio streaming service that offers copyrighted songs and podcasts. Spotify, as well as other English courses, were extremely effective in enhancing students' listening skills. This study can be used with other multimedia to enhance students' listening abilities. The goal of this research was to investigate students' perceptions of Spotify. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method, with data obtained via semi-structured interviews with ten respondents
