Abstract

Student learning achievement is still low and some of the material being studied does not know its use in conducting data analysis. This study aims to describe the application of the problem based learning (PBL) model to improve student achievement in the statistical course of the Master of Educational Technology Study Program. This research method uses classroom action research. This research was conducted in the Master of Educational Technology study program in the Statistics course. The subjects of this study were first semester students in the Education Technology Master's Degree Study Program, totaling 16 people. Data collection techniques used observation sheets to assess the application of problem based learning (PBL) learning models and learning achievement tests. Data analysts use quantitative and qualitative analysis. Quantitative analysis consists of percentage, mean value and T test. While qualitative analysis uses inductive analysis by reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the application of the problem based learning model could improve the statistical learning achievement of students of Master of Education Technology. This result implies that if the lecturer wants to improve student statistical learning achievement, then apply the Problem Based Learning learning model in the learning process.

Abstract

The research objective is to develop curriculum and learning teaching materials. The research method uses research and development (R&D). The teaching material development model used is the Instructional Development model. The target subjects are undergraduate students in study programs at FKIP UNIB. This research was conducted at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education in the odd semester of 2022/2023. Collecting data using questionnaires, interviews and observations. The results of the study based on validation by media experts and design experts showed a feasible category. In the evaluation of one to one learning, and small groups are also feasible to use. In the field trial, teaching materials were tested by giving pre and post tests with a Sig (2-tailed) test result of 0.032. The value of sig (2-tailed) < 0.05, then there is a significant difference between learning achievement in pre-test and post-test data on curriculum and learning teaching materials, meaning that teaching materials can improve learning achievement. From the results of the validation and testing carried out, it can be concluded that the curriculum and learning teaching materials are suitable for use

Abstract

This study began with learning problems related to the lack of statistics teaching materials that suit students' needs and there are no resources that suit the statistics syllabus. Learning resources are taken from several books whose material is still separated from each other, the material is difficult to understand because the language used is not applied and there are no examples for application in research that will be used by students in their final assignment. The aim of this research is to develop teaching materials for statistics courses that suit student needs, test the feasibility of the statistics teaching materials being developed, and see the effectiveness of using statistics teaching materials in the implementation of learning. The research method used is research and development (R&D), namely the Dick and Carey model. The research subjects were material experts, media experts, design experts, and students of the first semester of the 2022/2023 academic year 2022/2023 master's study program (classes A, B, and C). Instrument Data collection uses observation sheets, interviews and questionnaires. The data analysis used is quantitative and qualitative analysis. The result of this research is that in the implementation of learning there are no teaching materials that are in accordance with the syllabus so that taking from several sources, the model used in developing the product is the Dick and Carey model with the results of the feasibility test through formative evaluation on statistical teaching materials declared suitable for use and in implementation learning is declared effective.
