Abstract

The purposes of this study are to reveal how the correlation of training and teaching experience with teacher professionalism at Prisma Vocational School and Pasundan 1 Vocational School in Serang City. There are three hypotheses tested, including: 1) training influences teacher professionalism; 2) teaching experience influences teacher professionalism; 3) teaching experience and training influence teacher professionalism were simultaneously. The study population was all teachers of Prisma Vocational School and Pasundan Vocational School with a total of 65 teachers selected as research samples. Research data were collected through a quantitative methode using questionnaires. Data analysis using validity test, reliability test and analysis prerequisite tests include normality test, multicollinearity test, heterokedasticity test. Hypotheses are tested using the coefficient of determination, Goodness of fit (Statistical Test F) and the Significance of Individual Parameters (Statistical Test t). The results showed that: a) the training had a significant effect on teacher professionalism, indicated by the value of Fcount > Ftabel (9.896 > 1.669); b) teaching experience does not affect the professionalism of teachers shown by the value of Fcount < Ftabel (1.041 < 1.669); c) Furthermore, Training and Teaching Experiences have effect (91.3%) on teacher professionalism. The conclusion of this research are: training influences teacher professionalism and has a strong value while teaching experience on teacher professionalism does not have a significant effect but together contributes to the improvement of teacher professionalism.
