Abstract

ABSTRACTThe 2013 curriculum was established by the Ministry of Education and Culture in the middle of the 2013/2014 school year. But until now most of schools have not been implementing it yet. Many new aspects must be adapted by the school, such as administration, learning models, and evaluation systems. So there are still many schools were not totality to implement the 2013 curriculum. One of school that is considered still not total in implementing the 2013 curriculum is Madrasah Aliyah Walisongo Pecangaan Jepara. The contributing factors included the lack of knowledge of MA Walisongo educators in implementing the 2013 curriculum. Looking at the situation, the team of PAI Study Program of the Education Faculty and Teaching Sciences of Unisnu Jepara took the initiative to provide solutions in the form of training and mentoring in the creation of the 2013 curriculum for educators in the madrasah. The target of this training and mentoring is to increase the ability of MA Walisongo educators in preparing learning tools, including learning plans, learning designs, and learning evaluations. The method of implementing this service uses three stages. First, the training was held in two meetings to discuss the theme of the 2013 curriculum concept, syllabus & KI-KD mapping, preparation of the RPP, and practice. Second, mentoring is carried out for four weeks after training. Third, program evaluation with Focus Group Discussion activities with MA Walisongo Pecangaan educators. The results of this service community are the 2013 curriculum learning tools including RPP and 2013 Curriculum Assessment instruments.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of strengthening interreligious tolerance in Indonesia’s multicultural society, with a focus on Bucu Village, located in Kembang Sub-district, Jepara Regency, which is known for its ability to maintain harmony between Muslim and Christian communities. The aim of this study is to examine how the youth in the village implement and internalize the values of tolerance, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors of these efforts. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews with religious leaders, youth, and community members, as well as documentation. The findings reveal that tolerance in Bucu Village has become institutionalized in the residents’ daily lives, especially among the younger generation. The implementation of tolerance is reflected in the unity displayed during village activities, mutual respect for interfaith worship practices, and the organization of inclusive communal events. These values have been internalized from an early age through family upbringing and social environments. The main supporting factors include collective awareness, the role of community leaders, fair village leadership, and routine social interactions involving all groups. Challenges include persistent social stereotypes, feelings of marginalization among minority groups, and the influence of intolerant ideologies through social media. Solutions are pursued through strengthening interfaith communication, digital education, and the development of inclusive social activities. Thus, the youth of Bucu Village have become key agents of tolerance and symbols of harmony in a diverse society.

Abstract

This article aims to reconstruct the concept of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) based on spiritual ethics through a critical study of al-Ghazali’s educational thought. The background of this research lies in the concern over the moral crisis and the loss of spiritual orientation in modern education, which tends to emphasize cognitive aspects alone. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach using library research methods by examining al-Ghazali’s primary works such as Iḥyāʾ ʿUlūm al-Dīn, al-Munqidz min al-Ḍalāl, and Miʿyār al-ʿIlm. Data were analyzed critically using content analysis and philosophical interpretation to explore educational values from a Sufi perspective. The hypothesis proposed is that Islamic education becomes more meaningful and effective when rooted in spiritual ethics. The findings indicate that al-Ghazali’s concept of spiritual ethics is not only normative but also practical, providing an integrative foundation that connects intellectual, moral, and transcendental dimensions. This reconstruction offers a more holistic, transformative, and contextually relevant paradigm for Islamic education today.
