Abstract

Research of loamy and soil influence on growth ofagroforestry sengon and nilam was conducted in private forestland in Sukamulih Vilage, Sariwangi Sub-Distric, Tasikmalaya District on November 2004 to November 2006. Two kinds ofsoil sample were taken from the upper and down part ofprivate forestland area. The research was conducted by analizing those soil samples in the laboratory. The result shows that the private forest land has loamy sand soil its texture with low rate offerlility. The planting activity was conducted in 3 blocks ofplanting area and 48 sengon were ptanted each block. The diameter and height ofsengon tree in loamy sand soil have good rate ofgrowth, which is 7.28 in of height and 9.48 of diameter in 24 months old. Meanwhile, nilam has 64.32 cm of height, 141.68 branches and 2.9 ofwet weight in 3 months old after cutting in the monoculture planting puttern. The loamy sond soil texture gives the positive influence on sengon and nilam growth. Therefore sengon and are potentially to developedin private forest development and degraded forestland rehabilitation.

Abstract

The objective of the research to find out the influence of michoriza, enrichmeni organic fertilizer, and wood vinegar combination on growth of G. arboreaseedling. The research was conducted in the. nursery, area of Foresny Research Instiude on November 2006 to January 2007. The research used the Complete Random Design (CRD) with 6 (six) treatments. The research shows that the michoriza, enrichmentorganicfertilizer and wood vinegar combination produces 50.87 cmof the best growth of tree's height. The influence organic fertifizer in treatment combination (M1N0C0vs M1N1C0) has a significant result on growth G. arborea seedling's height. The treatment combination MINICO (44,63 cm) showed a better result than the M1N0C0 (35,55 cm). The influence of wood vinegar treatment combination has not significant result on growth G. arborea seedling's height.

Abstract

The study aimed to examine the effect of number of axillary buds on different types of mulberry hybrid and their interaction on the survival rate and cutting growth. The research was conducted using Random Design of Factorial Group (RDFG). It consists of two treatment factors, i.e. four type of mulberry hybrid (M. SHA 4 x M. LUN 109, M. multicaulis x M. indica, M. australis x M. indica, M. nigra x M. indica) and four different numbers of axillary buds with 3 replications and 30 replicates for each unit experiment. The research shows that there were effect of axillary bud number, types of mulberry hybrid, and their interaction on the survival rate and growth of stem cutting of mulberry hybrid. The number of axillary bud for the best growth of stem cutting of mulberry hibrid for the best sprout length of cutting and the highest survival percentage (81, 668%) was the 3 axillary buds, while the 4 buds was the best according to the rank of whole parameter. The best cutting type of mulberry hybrid according to the rank of whole parameter was M. australis x M. indica. Interaction beetwen mulberry hybrid and the best sprout number according to the rank of whole parameter was M. australis x M. indica with 4 sprout number.

Abstract

Research on tisuk (Hibiscus macrophyllus) wildlings was conducted in the private forest area in Pasirbatang Village, Manonjaya Sub-District, Tasikmalaya District. The material of tisuk wildings was grown in nursery area of Ciamis Forestry Research Institute. The research was conducted on September 2007, starting with the private forest observation, which covers the potency of natural seedling spreading and the measurement of 2 years old-tisuk wildling, which came from natural seedling. The diameter growth of 2 years old-tisuk natural seedling that belong to the private forest farmer are 5.6 cm, 4.9 cm and 7.1 cm, while its height are 6.0 cm, 6.3 cm and 7.1 cm. The huge number of tisuk wildling availability under the tisuk stand has high potency to be the material for forest regeneration. Some of its techniques are covering the big tree selection, tisuk natural seedling selection, taking off, packaging, tisuk natural leaf cutting, replacement and seedling maintaining.

Abstract

Trying out sengon seed source by giving the compost was conducted in private forest area of Sukamulih Village, Sariwangi Sub-District,Tasikmalaya Dsistrict. This research used Split Random Design with five main plots of sengon seed source (Subang,Ciamis,Candiroto,Wamena, and Kediri) and five kinds of compost dose as the sub Plots (0 kg/plant, 1 kg/plant, 2 kg/plant,3 kg/plant and 4 kg/plant) so that there were 25 treatment combinations. The research shows the best diameter growth and significantly different friom other provenances, wich is 3.91 cm. The plant with 2 kg compost as its basic fertilizer treatment gives 3.46 cm as its best diameter. This data is insignificant with the diameter growth of plant with 3 kg and 4 kg compost treatments. Sengon with no compost (0 kg/plant) shows the worst diameter, which is 2.04 cm. Seed source interaction with the compost has a significant result on height growth of sengon. The sengon seed from Subang with 2 kg compost/plant shows the best height growth, which is 3.27 cm.

Abstract

The research is aimed to improve the productivity of sengon by testing the influence of NPK tablet as with four levels on growth. The research was conduced on November 2005 to August 2007 in the private forest in Sukamulih village. Sariwangi  Sub-District. The Design was Randomized Comlete Block Design (RCBD). The four treatments were no obtained from sengon,s growth on 21 months old minus its growth on 5 months old (fertilizing time). The result shows that faouir treatments of NPK tablets quantity to the sengon give insignificant influuence to the growth of sengon,s height and diameter in 21 months old 5 months old.
