Abstract

Complementary Foods for Mother's Milk (MP-ASI) are foods or drinks that contain nutrients, which are given to infants to meet their nutritional needs. MP-ASI is given along with breast milk from 6 months to 24 months. As babies get older, after babies are 6 months old, they are introduced to complementary foods to meet their nutritional needs. The impact of giving MP-ASI too early is more frequent constipation, diarrhea, constipation, cough, runny nose and fever, compared to babies who are only exclusively breastfed. This study aims to determine the relationship between early complementary feeding and the incidence of diarrhea in Lubuk Palas Village, Silau Laut District in 2021. This type of research was cross sectional with a correlational study design. The population in this study were all mothers who had babies 0-6 months who lived in Lubuk Palas Village, Silau Laut District in 2021, as many as 35 people, while the samples taken in the study were all mothers who had babies under 0-6 months as many as 35 people. The results showed that there was a relationship between the availability of clean water and healthy latrines with the incidence of diarrhea in children under five. There is a relationship between early age of complementary feeding and the incidence of diarrhea in Lubuk Palas Village, Silau Laut District in 2021. It is expected that mothers who have babies at an early age in Lubuk Palas Village, Silau Laut District, should try to give exclusive breastfeeding until the baby is 6 months old.

Abstract

Stomatitis or oral thrush is an inflammation and ulceration of the mucous membranes of the mouth that often occurs in infancy 6-12 months. The prevalence and distribution of stomatitis in Indonesia is 12%. The occurrence of stomatitis because the mother did not handle it properly. The factor suspected to be the cause is the mother's lack of knowledge. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between mother's knowledge about oral hygiene and the treatment of stomatitis in infants aged 6-12 months. This research is a descriptive analytic study with a cross sectional approach. The research was conducted at Eliza Kisaran Maternity Clinic. The research population was 32 people and all of them were used as samples. Data analysis was carried out univariate and bivariate using the Chi Square test at a 95% confidence level ( = 0.05).The results showed that the mother's knowledge about oral hygiene (oral hygiene) was in the sufficient category (38.9%). The treatment for stomatitis in infants was in the good category (52.8%). There is a significant relationship between mother's knowledge about oral hygiene and the treatment of stomatitis in infants at the Eliza Kisaran Maternity Clinic in 2021, p=0.033 <0.05. It is expected that health workers (midwives) will provide counseling to mothers about oral health (oral hygiene) in infants and also about stomatitis in infants, especially mothers who have sufficient and less knowledge so that mother's knowledge becomes good.

Abstract

The quality of health services is multi-dimensional. Judging from the users of health services, the notion of service quality is more related to the responsiveness of officers to meet patient needs, smooth communication between officers and patients. Empathy is a tendency to understand the condition or state of mind of others, the slightest changes and responses in patients must be understood, because they must understand the patient's condition, health workers must have empathy. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the empathy of health workers and patient satisfaction during the COVID-19 pandemic at the Rambung Binjai Selatan in 2022. This type of research was descriptive analytic using a cross sectional design. The population in this study were patients who visited the Puskesmas Rambung Binjai Selatan during the Covid-19 pandemic starting from January to July 2022 totaling 2,800 people with an average of 250 people per month. The sample is the part taken from the whole object under study and is considered to represent the entire population. Sampling is a sampling technique with certain considerations desired by the researcher (objective / problem in research) so that the sample can represent the characteristics of the population that have been known previously. The sampling method used the Purpose Sampling method as many as 96 samples. The result of the study is that there is a relationship between empathy and patient satisfaction during the Covid-19 pandemic at the Rambung Binjai Selatan Health Center with a p value of 0.003. Researchers suggest that in the future health workers can provide more empathy for patients who come for outpatient care so that they can be used as examples for other officers and so that patients who come are satisfied in getting the services they receive
