Abstract

This paper focuses on the study conducted in SLB A Negeri Denpasar. The aim of the study was to identify the model of teaching used in teaching Hinduism to blind students in SLB A Negeri Denpasar. The study was conducted to the A program of SLB A Negeri Denpasar. The data were collected through observation, interview and document study. The result of the study showed that the teaching model used in teaching Hinduism was different than the teaching model used in normal school, viewed from the aspects of Syntax, Social System, Principle of Reaction, Support System, and instructional and nurturant effects of the model. The teaching model used was found to be a mix between the Direct Instruction Model and the Nondirective Teaching Model.

Abstract

Errors in translation stems from numerous sources, yet one of the mostcommon sources of the errors is the lack of vocabulary mastery. Therefore, it isimperative for aspiring translators to increase their vocabulary mastery. This articleproposed extensive reading through the implementation of book club inTranslation class to increase students’ vocabulary. The rationale for the book clubas well as the details of the implementation are discussed herein.

Abstract

The advancement of technology has brought changes in the use of Balinese language for the Balinese. The Balinese language has been set aside in numerous domains of life. To conserve and preserve the existence of Baline language, steps need to be taken in accommodating said advancement of technology to attract the younger generation interest. This paper discusses the idea to use audiobook as a medium to revitalize the masatua Bali (Balinese story telling) tradition as a form of language exposure to the young learners. The use of satua Baliaudiobook should follow the six principles of delivering audio materials and abide to the systematic steps of pre-listening, while listening, and post-listening steps. This steps would ensure the attainment of multiple benefits of the satua Baliaudiobook, namely, exposure of Balinese language to the young learners, fostering the noble values in satua Bali, and at the same time improving the quality of emotional relationship between the parents and the children
