Abstract

Transaction in Islam is often criticized for not having a clear differentiator from the other transaction. Although departing from the different basic principles, but havingnot a much different impact than the other transaction. Often asked, whether Islamic economics is capitalism minus usury or socialism plusIslam? Therefore, no less important to know are, what a plus-minus of conventional transaction, what the distinguishing element between a conventional transaction with Shari’ah transaction, and whether the distinguishing element has different impact than what is produced by a conventional transaction.

Abstract

The problem of poverty that be falls in the muslim communities is influenced by the systems used inthe distribution of zakah funds. Each system used has some advantages and disadvantages in accordancewith the priority issues to be resolved. If the priority is to reduce poverty, then decentralization isthe best choice of either of these options. This paper would like to reiterate the importance of decentralizeddistribution of charity funds so that funds raised by an area will be returned to the area and theproblems of poverty faced from which the funds collected will soon be resolved.

Abstract

The background of this research is the phenomena of zakat and poverty which conduct in six provinces on the Island of Java during the period 2001-2012. In the region and the period, the data of zakat acquisition on the one side, tends to increase sharply. While the data of poor population on the other side, although decreasing, the numbers are still high, even during that period had experienced twice fluctuations. This research uses panel data analysis, with a fixed-effect approach and data used are secondary data. The results of this study explained through quantitative interpretation procedure, which is sourced from the regression coefficients, such as the calculation results of the estimation model built. From the recursive models built, by placing economic growth and unemployment variables as control variables, this research found that zakat has positively and significantly effect on economic growth; negatively but not significantly effect on unemployment; and negatively and significantly effect on poverty. The findings of this study concluded that zakat can be used as an instrument of poverty alleviation in six provinces on the Island of Java. This study also recommends an assessment of the discourse of distributing zakat funds to non-Muslims. With a number of classic references available, there are opportunities to reformulate the distribution of zakat funds obtained. As a nation state, it is hoped that Indonesia can be used as an example of how zakat funds can become an adhesive for the life of the nation and state in a pluralistic and pluralistic society. Keywords: Zakat, Economic Growth, Unemployment and Poverty.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze business risk in Islamic banking financing in Indonesia. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The data used in this study are secondary data sourced from Sharia Banking Statistics (SBS). The conclusions of this article are ten business risks that must be managed by Islamic banks in carrying out their functions, namely financing risk, market risk, liquidity risk, operational risk, legal risk, reputation risk, strategic risk, compliance risk, yield risk, yield risk, and investment risk. Four business risks affect the profitability of Sharia Commercial Banks (BUS) in Indonesia, namely financing risk as measured by NPF, the rupiah exchange rate measures market risk against the USD and inflation, return NCD measures risk on total deposits and investment risk measured by the percentage potential loss profit-sharing financing for mudharabah and musyarakah investment portfolios.
