Abstract

Islamic Micro Finance (IMF) has an important role in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Indonesia by providing inclusive financial access based on sharia. This study aims to analyze how the IMF contributes to poverty alleviation (SDG 1), increasing financial inclusion (SDG 9), reducing economic inequality (SDG 10), promoting sustainable economic growth (SDG 8) and improving financial education and awareness (SDG 4). The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with literature analysis and case studies from several sharia microfinance institutions in Indonesia. The research results show that the IMF through instruments such as qardhul hasan, mudharabah, musyarakah, and ZISWAF is able to provide financial solutions for poor community groups and micro businesses. In addition, the digitalization of sharia financial services further increases the IMF's reach in supporting financial inclusion. However, there are challenges that still need to be overcome, such as limited capital, low sharia financial literacy, and regulations that are not yet optimal. Therefore, strengthening regulations, sharia financial education and Islamic financial technology innovation are key strategies for optimizing the IMF's role in achieving the SDGs in Indonesia. This study provides an original contribution by highlighting the strategic role of Islamic Micro Finance in achieving SDGs in Indonesia through a sharia-based approach. The added value of this study lies in the integration between Islamic financial instruments and sustainable development goals, as well as the importance of digital innovation and financial education in the local context.

Abstract

Digital transformation has opened vast opportunities for the younger generation to engage in technology-based entrepreneurship. However, the low level of literacy regarding Sharia-based business among university students remains a major challenge in building a competitive halal startup ecosystem. This community engagement program aims to equip students with both conceptual understanding and practical skills in developing digital businesses aligned with Sharia principles. The program was implemented on May 10, 2025, involving 60 students from UNISKA, UMB, and Poliban. The method employed an educational-dialogical approach based on experiential learning, encompassing interactive seminars, technical workshops, and reflective evaluations. The training materials included the Sharia Business Model Canvas, halal design thinking, Islamic ethical digital marketing, as well as halal legality and certification. The program’s effectiveness was measured through pretest and posttest instruments, which showed a significant improvement in the average score from 58.3 to 82.7. These findings indicate that the program was effective in enhancing students’ understanding and readiness to become halalpreneurs. Furthermore, the experience fostered a transformation in students’ mindsets toward perceiving business as a means of worship and social contribution. The program is recommended to be replicated on a larger scale with cross-sectoral collaboration and support.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the performance of halal product process assistance services by the Islamic Economic Community (Masyarakat Ekonomi Syariah/MES) in South Kalimantan. The success of LP3H (Lembaga Pendamping Proses Produk Halal) in assisting the halal product process is crucial to ensuring compliance with halal principles within the Islamic economy. This research adopts a field study design using a quantitative descriptive approach. The sampling technique applied was purposive sampling, involving 96 respondents from Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that had received assistance in the halal certification process. Data were gathered through structured questionnaires and analyzed using the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method. The study examines six Islamic service quality dimensions: tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and compliance. The findings indicate that the overall quality of assistance services provided by the Halal Product Process Assistants under MES has not yet achieved the level of excellent service. This is evidenced by the gap between the average values of performance and importance across several service indicators. The Cartesian diagram analysis reveals three indicators that require priority improvement: (1) trust in the MES P3H (Halal Product Process Assistant), (2) the neat and professional appearance of the assistants, and (3) the honesty and transparency of the assistants in explaining the halal certification application process. These results suggest the need for MES to improve the competence, appearance, and integrity of its assistants in order to meet the expectations of MSMEs and support the sustainability of halal product development in Indonesia. This study contributes to the evaluation of service quality in halal certification assistance, especially within the Islamic economic framework.
