Diagnostik Wilayah Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Cikapundung telah dilaksanakan pada tanggal 1-15 November 2011 melalui pendekatan Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) Mengkarakterisasi kondisi bio-fisik dan sosial ekonomi; (2) Mengidentifikasi masalah dan alternatif pemecahannya; dan (3) Merumuskan rencana kegiatan sesuai hasil PRA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa DAS Cikapundung merupakan sungai yang berfungsi sebagai drainase utama di pusat Kota Bandung, meskipun kondisi saat sangat memprihatinkan sebagai akibat pencemaran yang relatif berat. Berdasarkan hasil identifikasi dan karakterisasi telah disepakati bahwa kegiatan dan alternatif teknologi yang akan dikembangkan, berturut-turut sesuai dengan prioritasnya adalah: (1) Penegakan hukum; (2) Penerapan teknologi pengolahan sampah dan limbah pertanian/peternakan untuk energi alternatif dan kompos; (3) Penerapan mikrohidro; (4) Penyediaan sarana sampah (bak dan pengangkutannya); (5) Pemberdayaan kelompok masyarakat; (6) Penguatan pelayanan penyuluhan dan informasi; (7) Penerapan teknologi sapi perah ramah lingkungan; (8) Penghijauan; (9) Pelatihan pengolahan sampah rumah tangga; (10) Fasilitasi kemitraan antara masyarakat dengan Lembaga Penelitian dan swasta; (11) Pengembangan septic tank; dan (12) Revitalisasi pemukiman. Diagnostic area of Cikapundung river basin was conducted in November 1-15, 2012 by using Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach. The objective of the study were: (1) to characterize biophysic and social economy conditions; (2) to identify the problem and solving alternatives, and (3) to formulate activity plans based on PRA’s results. Research results indicated that Cikapundung river basin was consider as a river which having function of main drainage of the Bandung city, eventhough its condition was miserable due to heavily contamination. Based on the result of identification and characterization, it were agree that the activity and alternative technology to be developed included: (1)Law enforcement; (2) Technology implementation of garbage processing and agriculture/animal waste for alternative energy and compos; (3) Mycrohydro implementation; (4) Garbage processing facilities; (5)community group empowerment; (6) Improving extention and information services; (7) Implementation of environment friendly of cow technology; (8) Forestation; (9) Garbage processing training; (10)Facilitating of partnership between Research Institution and private sectors; and (11) Septic tanc development; and (12) Revitalization of reseltment.
