Abstract

This paper reveals the voltage divider circuit to better understand the fundamental working principles in detail. The approach was simulated using popular offline simulators (i.e., Pr, CW circuit, and virtual mode, EWB, Mu, P, Ye, TS, QUCS, LTS, SI, and PhET). Two scenarios were carried out: measuring the output voltage (Vout) with known R1, R2, and DC source (Battery) as a voltage input (Vin), then looking for R1 and R2 using four different calculation methods to obtain Vout as expected. Afterward, the value of R1 and R2 were inserted into the simulation circuit to guarantee if the current Vout value matched the initial Vout. Finally, the simulation results were compared with the calculation results. All simulators provide an attractive GUI, capable of simulating voltage measurements with 100% accuracy in terms of DC analyses, which is DC voltage (except the CW software, which is only 98%), and can be entered in any resistor value (except Ye and PhET software). Surprisingly, the results of this study can provide insight for beginners to understand essential topics in electrical engineering studies, e.g., the circuit topology, fundamental theory, and working principle of a voltage divider circuit. Besides, the student will understand an offline electronic-based simulator suitable for measuring voltage parameters. Furthermore, they are expected to apply this circuit to various electronic circuit cases.

Abstract

Desa Cisampih merupakan desa yang terletak di Kec. Dawuan Kab. Subang, Jawa Barat dan berjarak 13,7 km dari pusat Kota Subang. Per 3 Desember 2020, hanya terdapat satu orang yang positif terinfeksi virus Covid-19 di Desa Cisampih, namun kegiatan pencegahan tetap perlu dilakukan sebagai bentuk kewaspadaan terhadap virus Covid-19 karena penularannya sangat mudah dan penyebarannya sangat cepat. Pelaksana melakukan program KKN Tematik bertemakan “Pencegahan dan Penanggulangan Dampak Covid-19” dengan memberikan sosialisasi dan himbauan agar masyarakat sasaran tidak mengabaikan & selalu peduli akan protokol kesehatan. Lokasi yang dijadikan kegiatan pengabdian ini terbatas di area RT 16 RW 04. Kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan melalui aksi langsung dan tidak langsung. Pada aksi tidak langsung, pelaksana membuat poster dan dipost pada media sosial pribadi, kemudian video sosialisasi yang di-upload di kanal YouTube. URL dari video Youtube tersebut dibagikan ke grup-grup WhatsApp desa. terutama grup WA RT 16 RW 04. Sementara aksi langsung, adalah dengan pembuatan dan penyaluran masker kain kepada masyarakat sasaran. Masker kain dirasa mampu mencegah dari penularan berbagai virus, termasuk Covid-19. Pelaksana mewawancara masyarakat secara langsung untuk mengetahui respon masyarakat terkait program ini. Melalui serangkaian program pengabdian ini, diharapkan masyarakat selalu sadar dan waspada dengan cara menerapkan protokol kesehatan serta selalu menggunakan masker ketika menjalankan segala bentuk aktivitas saat di luar rumah.

Abstract

This research was conducted on the Circuit Wizard simulator application to simplify the students, especially in the field of Telecommunications Systems, Indonesia Education University, Purwakarta for understanding of the characteristics of each Operational Amplifier with a comparator circuit. In addition, this article presented and tested a comparator circuit to compare the results of two voltages, namely inverting and non-inverting Op Amps. The method used in the research, by making a comparator circuit with 10 different types of Operational Amplifiers. This is carried out to get more valid comparison result and the simulation is run for six times. The simulation was conduct in two comparison conditions with a Vin(+) value of 6V, a predetermined Vin(-) value and a DC voltage flowing of 12V. The results of the analysis through simulations with 10 types of Operational Amplifiers produced different outputs. In principle, it can be influenced by V rail-to-rail, intrinsic circuit, Zin, Zout, Pin and the different characteristics of each Operational Amplifier model. As a comparison, based on its characteristics, the LM741 data sheet has a value of Vs = ±15 V (output voltage swing) if RL 10 kΩ and RL 2kΩ. Whereas in the data sheet LM258 has a value of VS = 30 V if RL = 2 kΩ, VS = 30 V if RL 10 kΩ, VS = 5 V if RL 2 kΩ for positive rail, and VS = 5 V if RL 10 kΩ for negative rails. It can be concluded that the Circuit Wizard software makes it easy to simulate the comparator circuit, so it suggested to be simulated on other materials.
