Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeksripsikan kategori danperan semantis dari argumen verba dalam naskah berita mediadaring liputan6.com, cnnindonesia.com, dan sindonews.com.Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan jenispenelitian deskriptif. Dalam mengumpulkan data digunakanteknik dokumentasi, yaitu dengan membaca keseluruhan sumberdata, dan mencatat data yang diperlukan. Analisis data dilakukandengan teknik ganti dan teknik sisip. Berdasarkan analisis data,diperoleh hasil sebagai berikut. Pertama, kategori verba keadaanyang bersubkategori verba keadaan posesi, verba keadaanpengalaman, verba keadaan lokatif, dan verba keadaan yangbukan posesi, pengalaman, dan lokatif. Kedua, verba aksi yangbersubkategori verba aksi benefaktif, verba aksi pengalaman,verba aksi lokatif, dan verba aksi yang bukan benefaktif,pengalaman, dan lokatif. Ketiga yaitu verba proses yangbersubkategori verba proses benefaktif, verba proses pengalaman,dan verba proses yang bukan benefaktif, pengalaman, dan lokatif.Peran semantis yang diperoleh yaitu pengalam, pengalam hasil,pengalam stimulus, pengalam lokatif, agen, pemengaruh, agenpenerima, agen penderita, dan agen lokatif.Kata kunci: kategori semantis, peran semantis, verba, berita pendidikanThis research aims to describe the categories and semantic roles ofverbs in the news text of online media liputan6.com,cnnindonesia.com, and sindonews.com. The research wasconducted with a qualitative approach and descriptive research.In collecting the data, used the documentation technique, which isread the entire data source and record the data needed. The analysis is done with changing technique and insertion technique.Based on data analysis, the following results are obtained. First,the state verb, consists of possess, experience, locative and thestate verb which not include in that three categories. Second,action verb, consists of benefactive, experience, locative, and theaction verb which not include in that three categories. Third,process verb consists of benefactive, experiences, and processverba which not include in that categories.
