Abstract

The objective of this research is to measure the effect of giant salvinia compost and compound fertilizers on growth of cocoa seedlings. This research has been conducted in State Polytechnic of Lampung experimental garden, Rajabasa, Bandar Lampung on December 2014 until May 2015. The method used was a randomized block design (RBD). The factorial pattern consisting of two factors. The first factor was the rate of giant salvinia compost consists of four levels, namely: K0 = 0 g.polybag-1, K1 = 200 g.polybag-1, K2 = 300 g.polybag-1, and K3 = 400 g.polybag-1. The second factor was the rate of compound fertilizer consists of two levels, namely: M0 = 0 g.polybag-1, M1 = 5 g.polybag-1, M2 = 10 g.polybag-1. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance further significantly different if followed by LSD test at the 5% level of accuracy. Observations included plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, root length, dry weight, and ratio of root-shoot dry weight. The results showed that giant salvinia affected on plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, root length, and the ratio of root-shoot dry weight. Compound fertilizer also affected on plant height and number of leaves, stem diameter, root length, and and ratio of root-shoot dry weight. There was an interaction between rate of giant salvinia compost and compound fertilizer on length root. Keywords: compound fertilizer, giant salvinia compost, Theobroma cacao L.Permalink: http://jurnal.polinela.ac.id/index.php/AIP/article/view/18

Abstract

NPK fertilizer and organic fertilizer on the growth of oil palm seedlings in the main nursery aims to determine a single effect or interaction between the two on the growth of oil palm seedlings in the main nursery.  The experiment was conducted at the Polytechnic of Lampung from July 2013 to March 2014.  The study used Complete Randomized Design (CRD) factorial, which consists of two factors and each combination was repeated 3 times.  The first factor of NPK fertilizer with 3 levels, 100%, 50%, and 25% of the dose recommendation as much as 142 g.  The second factor is the dose of organic fertilizer (Organonitrofos) with 3 levels of treatment, without organic fertilizer, 18 g polybag-1, and 36 g polybag-1. Observation variables such as plant height, number of midrib, stem diameter, length of midrib, shoot dry weight, root dry weight and P total.  The results showed that NPK fertilizer at the age of 9 months to increase the length midrib, shoot dry weight and root dry weight. Effect of dosage of the best there is at 100%.  The combination of NPK fertilizer and organic fertilizer there is an interaction of the dry weight of the roots and the best interaction was achieved by treatment of 50% NPK fertilizer and organic fertilizer  36 g polybag-1.Keywords: NPK fertilizer, oil palm, organonitrofosPermalink: http://jurnal.polinela.ac.id/index.php/AIP/article/view/20

Abstract

Goat is one of animal by the village people in Indonesia is one of the goat farm animals are much in demand by the people of the village. Adult goats capable  produce solid fecal waste as much as 0.5 kg per day, in the long term this will be a problem if not handled properly. Goat manure can be used as fertilizer. In the manufacture of manure requires serious attention because during the fermentation progresses, there is  variety of transformation processes in fertilizers. The purpose of this study was to observe the effect of fermentation on the quality of goat manure. This study was conducted in State Polytechnic of Lampung in October 2014 until February 2015. The experimental design used was a randomized block design (RBD) consisted of six treatment fermentation period:  2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 weeks with three replications.length of fermentation showed the presence of a marked influence on C/N ratio. The value of C/N ratio has decreased accordance with the length of fermentation time, indicated in the treatment of older fermentation 8, 10, and 12 which have a value of C/N ratio is getting smaller 15, 12, and 10.The nutrient content of N and P unless the element K not significantly different, but all three have increased. Based on research that has been done, it can be concluded that the length of fermentation effect on the value of C/N ratio, the content of N and P, but has no effect on the value of the content of K manure goats and best quality was obtained in treatment fermentation period of 10 weeks with a value of C/N ratio 12 and N content of 1.16%, P: 1.01%, and K: 1.27%.Keywords: fermentation duration, goat manure, organic fertilizerPermalink: http://jurnal.polinela.ac.id/index.php/AIP/article/view/50

Abstract

The development of Mycorrhizal Arbuscular Fungi (MAF) in general is influenced by the conditions of the rhizosphere and fungi spores. Rhizosphere conditions are conditions around the roots such as temperature, pH, and root exudates. While the condition is a fungal spore dormancy and maturity spores. The aim of this study was to determine the amount of FMA on some plantation crops rhizosphere, to determine the type of crop rhizosphere FMA on some plantations, as well as to determine the dominance of FMA on some plantation crops rhizosphere. The experiment was conducted at the Laboratory Analysis State Polytechnic of Lampung. Month trial period from December 2014 to July 2015. The method used in this study is a description of the method by observation. Based on research results and observations of mycorrhizal spores in the rhizosphere of plants cocoa, rubber, coffee, and palm oil was found that on average the highest number of spores found in oil palm plantations (2.4 spores), while the lowest number of spores present in the rubber plantations (1 spore ). Type spores on all plantation crops rhizosphere dominated by species Glomus with different types (10 types). Glomus Type 2 dominates on all plantation crops rhizosphere. Keywords: estate crop, mycorrhizae, rhizospherePermalink: http://jurnal.polinela.ac.id/index.php/AIP/article/view/51
