Abstract

This research was conducted at Seririt State Vocational School 1 in Class XII 4 Hospitality Accommodation where the students' ability to study social studies was quite low. The purpose of writing this class action research is to find out whether the talking stick method which is equipped with reinforcement can improve student learning achievement. The data collection method is a learning achievement test. The data analysis method is descriptive. The results obtained from this study are the talking stick method that is equipped with reinforcement can improve student motivation and learning outcomes. This is evident from the average results obtained initially 71.44 in the first cycle to 77.66 and in the second cycle to 85.17. The conclusion obtained from this study is the talking stick method that is equipped with reinforcement can improve the learning achievement of social studies class XII Hospitality Accommodation 4 Vocational High School 1 Seririt.

Abstract

The one by one plus technique is a technique in group discussion based on peer tutorprinciples. This technique fits perfectly with constructivist understandings that emphasize learningmust be student-centered. With the existence of group discussion activities with peer tutorsinteraction and exchange of information between students and students and between studentsand teachers. In this study which made the population is the students of class XII AccommodationHospitality 2 SMK Negeri 1 Seririt semester odd school year 2013/2014 samples taken oneclass that is class XII Accommodation Hospitality 2 SMK Negeri 1 Seririt amounting to 40people with the consideration of this class represents class XII Accommodation Hospitality 2SMK Negeri 1 Seririt. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMK Negeri 1 Seririt di Kelas XII Akomodasi Perhotelan 4yang kemampuan siswanya untuk materi IPS cukup rendah. Tujuan penulisan penelitian tindakan kelas ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah metode talking stickyang dilengkapi dengan reinforcementdapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa. Metode pengumpulan datanya adalah tes prestasi belajar. Metode analisis datanya adalah deskriptif.Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah metode talking stick yang dilengkapi dengan reinforcementdapat meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa. Ini terbukti dari hasil rata-rata yang diperoleh pada awalnya71,44 pada siklus I menjadi77,66 dan pada siklus II menjadi 85,17
