Abstract

ABSTRACTAdaptation of Onion and Peanut to Dry Land. Crop adaptation is one of the efforts to find out the suitability of dry land to obtain maximum yield and efficiency of farming. This research aimed to findout onion and peanut varieties suitable for dry land, with high production, which will in turn could increase farmers income. Onions and peanuts are important food crops for people's lives, because they are not only food sources, but they are the jobs of some farmers. The research was conducted for a year with two series namely: First, variety adaptation of onion consisting of three levels i.e., local palasa, local tinombo and bima varieties. Second, variety adaptation of peanut consisting of four levels i.e., tuban, bison, kelinci dan local varieties Each activity used a randomized block design with treatment repeated 3 times. The results show that: superior varieties of both onion and peanut significantly increase harvest yield in an adequate improved cultivation compared to the yield obtained using local varieties with traditional cultivation approach.Analysis of suitability of the farms show that all the varieties of the onions and peanuts are beneficial to be cropped. In a high rainfall periode (April – July 2016), onion of bima variety could not be harvested, due to highly intensive disease attack.onion, peanuts, dry land, productivity, incomeABSTRAKAdaptasi tanaman merupakan salah satu upaya untuk mengetahui kesesuaian terhadap lahan kering memperoleh hasil maksimal dan efisiensi usahatani. Bawang merah dan kacang tanah merupakan komoditas tanaman pangan penting bagi kehidupan masyarakat, karena tidak hanya sebagai sumber pangan, akan tetapi merupakan lapangan pekerjaan sebagian petani. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendapatkan varietas bawang merah dan kacang tanah yang sesuai dengan kondisi lahan kering yang dapat berproduksi tinggi dan meningkatkan pendapatan petani. Penelitian dilakasanakan selama satu tahun dengan dua kegiatan penelitian yang diksanakan secara bersamaaan yaitu: adaptasi varietas bawang merah terdiri atas 3 level (bawang merah lokal palasa, lokal tinombo dan varietas Bima) dan kacang tanah terdiri atas empat varietas antara lain Varietas Tuban, Varietas Bison, Varietas Kelinci dan Varietas Setempat/lokal. Masing masing kegiatan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok dengan perlakuan diulang 3 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: Introduksi Varietas unggul kacang tanah dan bawang merah secara nyata meningkatkan hasil panen dibandingkan dengan teknik budidaya ditingkat petani dan varietas eksisten. Analisis kelayakan usahatani, telihat bahwa semua varietas yang di uji baik bawang merah maupun kacang tanah layak untuk diusahakan. Bawang merah varietas Bima tidak dapat berproduksi pada kondisi curah hujan tinggi (periode April – Juli 2016) akibat adanya serangan penyakit sehingga tidak dapat dipanen.bawang merah, kacang tanah, lahan kering, produktivitas, pendapatan

Abstract

Syafruddin et al, 2017. Study on Adaptation of Rice Varieties to Two Typical Lands in Central Sulawesi. JLSO 6(2):158-169. New paddy and rainfed rice fields have been potential resources in supporting sustainable rice self sufficiency. Improvemet on cultivation of adaptable varieties and good fertilization on the lands could increase production and land productivity.  This research aimed to findout new varieties adaptable to the typical lands with high yield.  The research was designed as randomized block design.  The treatments consisted of tree superior varieties and one ekxisting variety.  The results show that the areas are mainly less fertile with restriction factors: low in phosporus, low in organic content but high in iron.  The crop respons are mainly excellent to both types of the land in Poso and Donggala Regencies.  Banyuasin varietiety gave the highest production at both locations resulting in 9,13-9,27 tons/ha, followed by Mendawak and the existing varieties (Ciomas and Ciherang).  The results increased harvest up to 2,32-9,93 tons/ha compared to those cropped with Inpara 3.  The results also show that Banyuasin and the existing varieties are more adaptable and stable to both land types.  Based on suitability evaluation, the farms are grouped into suitable with B/C ratio 1,60-3,57 compared to Inpara 3 with B/C ratio 1,01- 1,59.
