Abstract

Untuk mendukung program pemerintah terkait pembangunan sektor pariwisata nasional, pemerintah daerah berlomba-lomba mengembangkan pariwisata mereka. Kabupaten Malang yang memiliki potensi pariwisata yang beragam pun tak mau ketinggalan dengan branding yang dicetuskan pemerintah Kabupaten (PemKab) Malang melalui tagline ‘The Heart of East Java’ yang diharapkan mampu meningkatkan jumlah wisatawan ke tempat wisata di Kabupaten Malang. Target khusus studi ini yaitu menganalisis inisiatif dan realisasi program branding pariwisata yang dilakukan oleh Humas Kabupaten Malang dan juga mendiskusikan tantangan yang dihadapi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui interview ke informan terpilih dari pihak PemKab dan Dinas Pariwisata serta observasi online dan lapangan ke tempat wisata yang dipilih. Sebagai pisau analisis penelitian ini kerangka acuan yang akan digunakan adalah destination branding yang menekankan pentingnya peran berbagai pihak untuk menyukseskan konsep branding. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi atau rekomendasi kepada pihak Pemkab Malang maupun pemerintah daerah lain terkait branding pariwisata dan program terkait untuk memaksimalkan kinerja pembangunan daerah wisata serta Kabupaten Malang secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

Adaptasi lintas budaya merupakan sebuah proses penyesuaian yang panjang untuk medapatkan kenyamanan ketika berada di lingkungan baru dan beragam. Mahasiswa Manggarai, Flores (Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur) yang tinggal di Malang memiliki karakteristik identitas yang berbeda dan hal ini mempengaruhi proses interaksi dan adaptasi dengan penduduk setempat. Komunikasi yang dibangun antara mahasiswa dan penduduk setempat ini tidak dapat dipahami tanpa mempelajari langkah-langkah dasar dalam proses adaptasi lintas budaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan paradigma interpretif dengan maksud dapat memperoleh pemahaman mendalam dari sudut pandang mahasiswa Manggarai dalam adaptasinya dengan penduduk setempat. Penelitian ini pada akhirnya bertujuan untuk berkontribusi pada studi komunikasi antar budaya di Indonesia, terutama untuk memahami dan memperdalam komunikasi antara budaya masyarakat dari luar daerah dan masyarakat setempat.

Abstract

Abstract— In this globalization era, hospitality or hotelier investment opportunities are growing rapidly, but not without a formidable competition, which is why these growing opportunities and threats have to be recognised by the people in this industry. One of the most important strategy in facing the global era business competition is to convince the costumer  that the hotel they are chosing is better and has more benefits than the rest of the competition. Convincing the customer means building a relation through positive perception, positive image and positive experiences to finally gain their trusts. This is where a highly motivated Public Relations is needed as the frontline of the company. Judge, Erez & Bono (1998) stated that self esteem, self efficacy and the locust of control are the three core-self evaluation that form the basic for building individual work motivation.The purpose of this study is to see the influences of these three core-self evaluation on the work motivation of Public Relations in facing the hotel business competition. When analyzing the influences of these three variables on the work motivation of a Public Relations, the researcher uses the cybernetic tradition approach. Through this approach the researcher then uses the Expectancy Value Theory in analyzing the influences of self esteem, self efficacy, and the locus of control on the work motivation.The sample of this research is the Public Relations practitioner of Santika Indonesia Hotel and Resort. This research uses the path analysis technique. The SPSS calculation shows that the three variables bring positive influences towards the work motivation with the self efficacy line coefficient value of 0.322, self efficacy 0.340, and the locus of control with 0.346.These results show that the more positive the self esteem, self efficacy and the locus of control value of a Public Relations, the higher the work motivation of the Public Relations of Santika Hotel and Resort in facing the business competition in this global era.

Abstract

In a professional world, organizational communication is one element to support their business activity, the relationship between employees and managers of various line interconnected through communication. One of the problems relating to communication in the organization is generation gap that are confronted by having different perceptions, behavior and character involving employees across the generations in one company. This research going to see the influence of the generational differences between employees was born from generation x and generation y or milenials of different positions positions in companies engaged at consumer goods industry in Surabaya. The research objective is to explain Impact of the existence of the generational difference against the pattern of organizational communication among employees in companies. This research with eksplanative be held with quantitative approach, data collection is gathered through interview with quitionnaire. The result explained that correlation analysis of 17,64% from pearson product moment, it means there is low influence but significant between generational differences and pattern of communication organization. Significance tested of thitung (2,37) > ttabel (1,42), then Hi accepted.
