Abstract

This research is to find out the implementation of bahtsul masail in Fathul Ulum boarding school Jombang, the students’ critical thinking of fiqh, and the implementation of bahtsul masail in increasing the critical thinking of ulya class students in the subjects fiqh of worship. This research is a descriptive qualitative method using a case study design, about how the implementation of Bahtsul Masail in increasing the critical thinking of ulya class students in fiqh worship subjects. The results of research show that: 1) the implementation of bahtsul masail is held once a week on bahtsul masail sughra and once a month in bahtsul masail Kubra. 2) Students’ critical thinking in fiqh subjects is seen when students can describe the problem, criticize the problem and provide answers in accordance with the problems proposition, especially religious jurisprudence issue occurs in the community. 3) The implementation of bahtsul masail at the Fathul Ulum Jombang has increased; students have begun to be critical of the problems arround them. The form of implementation has been carried out in Fathul Ulum Jombang is about the issue of ablution, prayer, and so on.

Abstract

Character education has become a major concern in the world of contemporary education. This article proposes a new approach to integrating the values of character education in the Islamic context through the Mahabah teachings, which are based on the concepts of love, compassion, and love. The perspective of Robi’ah al-Adawiyah, a prominent Sufi figure, was used as a basis for explaining this concept. This article carries out research methods using a library research approach, collecting and analysing data from relevant literary sources. The results of the analysis identify key concepts in Mahabah teachings, such as love, compassion, respect, honesty, and humility, which can be applied in the context of contemporary character education. In the context of character education, these values form the basis for forming individuals with strong morality, integrity, and the ability to contribute positively in an increasingly complex society. This article also highlights the relevance of Mahabah values in an increasingly multicultural society and offers insights into how character education can be more holistic by integrating spiritual and moral values as taught by Robi’ah al-Adawiyah. By combining the teachings of Mahabah and Robi’ah al-Adawiyah’s thinking, this article seeks to provide a richer and deeper insight into the values of character education in the Islamic context. Through this deeper understanding, the article contributes to the development of a more holistic and sustainable education that not only produces individuals who are academically intelligent but also have high moral integrity

Abstract

The eight-hour system of the Orkab Jombang Educational Association (IPdI) is an educational approach aimed at deepening the understanding of the teachings of the Qur'an and applying them in everyday life. This article outlines the approaches, methods, and results that can be achieved through this training. The verse-by-word analysis approach becomes the primary foundation for helping participants understand the meaning of the Qur'an in depth. Thus, the participants were directed to reflect on the meaning of each word in a sentence, translate it into the context of modern life, and apply it in real life. This article describes the steps from the pre-training stage to the implementation of training sessions. Interactive methods and group discussions become pillars for supporting collective understanding and stimulating personal reflection. The training results included an in-depth understanding of the Qur'an, the participants' ability to translate the meaning of the verse contextually, positive changes in views and attitudes, and increased spiritual awareness. This training also has the potential to form a strong character and good ethics, as well as to have a positive impact on society through the translation of sacred teachings into real action. This word-by-word translation training has the potential to enrich religious understanding, form more conscious individuals, and create harmonious and cultural societies. This article emphasizes the importance of an in-depth understanding of the Qur'an and uses it as a guide in dealing with the challenges of modern life.
