Abstract

This article entitled Learning to Cherish focuses on analyze the five poems by Audre Lorde which are Who Said It Was Simple, For Each Of You, A Woman Speaks, A Litany For Survival, and Movement Song. The problem in this analysis how far the five poems by Audre Lorde expose the issue of learning to cherish of the Black Women. The aim of this analysis is to find out how far the five poems by Audre Lorde expose the issue of learning to cherish in the Black women. This analysis is involved poetic elements that are imagery, repetition, speaker, and tone to reveal the issue. The analysis is related to the concept of Feminism by Bell Hook (1984) and Naomi Wolf (2002). The result of this analysis shows the Black women have good attitude and behavior to care deeply for their identity.

Abstract

Skripsi ini merupakan analisa dari lima puisi berjudul Characteristic of life, Trophic Cascade, The Peditrician Consider His Lobby, How Great The Gardens When They Thrive, and Natural History. Topik yang dibahas adalah bagaimana kejahatan manusia dibalik environmentalism. Permasalahan dari kajian ini  strategi politik yang dibuat oleh manusia terhadap lingkungan tanpa memperhatikan efek jangka panjang. Tujuan dari analisa ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauh mana elemen puisi (irony, repetition, tone, dan speaker) berperan dalam mengungkap kejahatan manusia terhadap lingkungan. Analisa dilakukan melalui interpretasi teks dan dikaitkan dengan konsep Ecocriticism dari Garrard, Sahu, Glotfelty and Estok. Hasil dari analisa ini menunjukkan bahwa manusia  melakukan seleksi terhadap binatang dan tumbuhan. Mengubah genetik dari tumbuhan, dan melakukan kontrol terhadap populasi.

Abstract

This study is the result of the analysis of the novel of Inside Out and Back Again (2011) written by Thanhha Lai. Topics covered are how the business of women from her childhood in reaching the realm to show her existence in the social environment. The issues raised are the extent to which the protagonist expresses the realm accession process to demonstrate its ability, as well as how far the function of fiction elements, such as setting and conflict influential to demonstrate the business. Results of this study is to discover the extent of the protagonist reaches the realm of effort in showing her abilities, and to investigate the role of setting and plot in helping determine those efforts. The theory used in this analysis is the feminist concept of Trinha Minh-ha and psychosocial concept of Richard Lazarus and Susan Folkman. Assessment method used is text-based interpretation and context-based interpretation. The results of this analysis indicate that women from an early age can achieve a wider sphere to show his ability by way of awareness of differences and turn them into concrete efforts and spur him to learn more.

Abstract

The purpose of this analysis is to expose the issue of inability to trust people which is done by an immigrant child who was separated multiple times from his family. The purpose of this study is to know the contribution of character, plot (conflict), and setting in revealing the inability to trust people. This analysis is related to the concept of neurosis by Sigmund Freud and Psychosocial Development by Erik Erikson that is supported by the text and context based interpretation. The result of this analysis shows the protagonist suffers from social relationship and mental problem that can be seen from his attitude and behavior.

Abstract

The purpose of the analysis is to expose the issue of maximizing the competence done by the main character with cerebral palsy to use all of her efforts in order to reach the equality with normal people. This analysis is using text based and context based method. The text based is using character, plot and setting. The context based  is related to the concept of life instincts by Freud, the concept of self-awareness by Crisp-Turner. The result of this analysis shows the protagonist succeeds to maximize her competence through participating in competition and social life.

Abstract

This article about the analysis of a novel Stay With Me (2016) by Ayọ̀bámi Adébáyọ̀. The problem of this analysis focuses on the issue of obtaining masculinity. The aim of analyses is to find out how far the characters Akin and Dotun exposes the issue of obtaining masculinity. This analysis involved fictional devices such as character, plot (conflict), and setting to reveal the issue of obtaining masculinity in the novel. The analysis deals with the concepts of Patriarchy by Roger Horrocks that is supported by the text and context based interpretation. The result of this analysis shows that the protagonist are Nigerian men who attain his authority to obtain masculinity. Both characters become arrogant, compromised, and obsession. These can be seen by their cunning way to obtaining masculinity.

Abstract

The purpose of this analysis is to expose the issue of coping with the hardship of life which is done by the protagonist and to know the contribution of the plot, setting, and character in revealing how to cope with the hardship of life. This analysis is related to the concept of life instincts by Sigmund Freud that is supported by the text and context-based interpretation. The result of this analysis shows that the protagonist copes with the hardship of life through two things; socializing with others and drawing pictures.

Abstract

The purpose of this analysis is to expose the issue of ideology enforcement in poems Chadur and Char-Diwari (CCD) by Fahmida Riaz, Gracefully She Approached (GSA) by Simin Behbahani, and Daughter of Afghanistan (DOA) by Nadia Anjuman. The issue of ideology enforcement refers to the patriarchy system strategies in applying their rules to the women. The problem of this analysis is to find how far these poems expose the issue of the patriarchy system's ideology enforcement. This analysis aims to expose men's rule influence toward the Pakistan, Iran, and Afghanistan women. This analysis uses the contribution of poetic elements; imagery, symbol, and diction in revealing the issue of the patriarchy system's ideology enforcement. The analysis is based on the concept of a feminist by Kate Millet, Naomi Wolf, and Betty Friedan that is supported by the text and context-based interpretation. The result of this analysis is the strategy of the patriarchy system enforcing their ideology toward the women. The men play their authority in the women's role and activity in public. The strategies are applied in two ways; manipulation and indoctrination.

Abstract

This article is about the analysis of five poems by Alice Walker entitled Blessed Are The Poor In Spirit(BATPIS), If I was President(IIP), To Change The World Enough(TCTHE), Working Class Hero(WCH), You Want To Grow Old Like The Carter(YWTGOLTC)focuses on how the black woman who is represented by the speaker maintains her movement for a better life. The problem of this analysis is how far these poems exposes about the efforts of the speaker to get the position in the public area. The purpose of the analysis is to find out the way of the speaker to survive and achieve her goal. This analysis is involved the elements of poetry such as irony, imagery, tone and the speaker to reveal the issue of keeping on the path in these poems. This analysis is related to the concept of feminism by Bell Hooks. The result of this analysis shows that the speaker is able to keeping on the path for a better life .

Abstract

The purpose of this analysis is to expose the issue of holding the existence which iis done by Palestinian and to know the contribution of poetic elements; repetition, imagery, metaphor, and tone in revealing the issue of holding the existence. This analysis is related to the concept of Myth by Carl Gustav Jung. The result of this analysis shows that the Palestinian stick to their culture and keep loyalty for holding the existence.
