Haryono, No. 169 MalangEmail: edri403@gmail.comAbstractThe practice of exploitation against migrant fishers in fishing vessels are something thatcontinuously happen till now, especially in Indonesia. ILO Work in Fishing Convention,2007 (No. 188) contains important elements on labor standards in the fishery sector,especially from the dimension before, during and after work, in order to establish thewelfare of migrant fishers. Based on the results of the study, ratifying the ILO Work inFishing Convention, 2007 (No. 188) is one of the appropriate and obvious steps as aneffort to resolve the issue of exploitation of workers in the fishing vessel sector.Keywords: Legal Protection, Exploitation, Indonesian Migrant Fishers’Abstrak Praktik eksploitasi pekerja migran pelaut di kapal perikanan merupakan hal yang masihberlangsung hingga sekarang, khususnya di Indonesia. Konvensi International Labour Organization (ILO) Nomor 188 Tahun 2007 Tentang Work in Fishing memuat unsurunsurpentingdaristandarperburuhanpadasektorperikanandalamdimensisebelum,saat,dansesudahbekerja,untukmenciptakankesejahteraankondisikerjaburuhperikanan.Berdasarkanhasilpenelitian,MeratifikasiKonvensiILONomor188Tahun2007merupakansalahsatulangkahtepatdannyatadalamupayamenyelesaikanisueksploitasipekerjadisektorkapalperikananKata kunci: Perlindungan Hukum, Eksploitasi, Pekerja Migran Pelaut Indonesia
