Abstract

Biology Learning at SMP N 1 Pulokulon obtained information that the learning process that occurs less involving students. The final test of the first semester for the science subjects was 35.5% of the students got the score ≥ 50, the students' learning completeness for the Biology subject in the school was 65% of students got ≥ 50. The effort to solve the problem was by applying inquiry discussion. This method is combined with PowerPoint media that can display images concretely. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of inquiry discussion assisted application of PowerPoint media in the learning of organizational life on students in SMP N 1 Pulokulon. The type of data consists of: (1) affective and psychomotoric students, obtained by using activity observation sheet and student performance during the learning progress, (2) cognitive students, obtained by multiple choice test given at the beginning and end of learning. Achievement mastery of affective and psychomotor learning result that is ≥ 85% student reach good and very good criterion. Analysis of cognitive data of students using variance analysis, if the F test is significantly different then continued the test of the BNT. The BNT test result in the post test shows that the experimental class is significantly different from the comparison class. Thus it can be concluded that the inquiry discussion with PowerPoint media effectively applied to the material organization of life in students in class VII SMP N 1 Pulokulon.

Abstract

Abstrak: Berdasarkan observasi di kelas X TKJ (Teknik Komputer Jaringan) dan X  PS  (Perbankan Syari’ah) diperoleh  gambaran  bahwa  keaktifan  siswa  dalam mengikuti  pelajaran  kurang.  Bahkan ada yang tidur saat jam pelajaran. Rendahnya keaktifan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran menyebabkan hasil belajar siswa juga rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) mengetahui peningkatan aktivitas siswa melalui diskusi inkuiri disertai penerapan media Powerpoint pada siswa kelas X materi Tsunami di SMK Roudlotus Saidiyyah; (2) mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa melalui diskusi inkuiri disertai penerapan media Powerpoint pada siswa kelas X materi Tsunami di SMK Roudlotus Saidiyyah; dan (3) mengetahui respon siswa dalam pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode diskusi inkuiri disertai penerapan media Powerpoint. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (action research) dengan dua siklus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tehnik tes dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) diskusi inkuiri disertai penerapan media Powerpoint dapat meningkatkan aktivitas siswa kelas X  pada materi Tsunami di  SMK Roudlotus Saidiyyah, yaitu pada pra siklus 25% meningkat menjadi 71,90% pada siklus I (2)   Diskusi  inkuiri  disertai  penerapan  media  Powerpoint dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas X pada materi Tsunami di SMK Roudlotus Saidiyyah, yaitu pada pra siklus rata-rata  hasil belajarnya  48,53  meningkat  menjadi  77,81 pada siklus I atau ≥ 65% (3) Respon siswa dalam pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode diskusi inkuiri disertai penerapan media Powerpoint positif. Kata Kunci: Aktivitas, Hasil Belajar, Materi Tsunami, Media Powerpoint, Metode Diskusi Inkuiri

Abstract

The challenge of the 21st century is how teachers as much as possible integrate learning with information technology. Lecturers often find slides prepared by students when the presentation is not good, for example: full text and not contrast. The purpose of this study is to explain how the implementation, response, constraints, and difficulties during the development of materials in the form of a powerpoint slide on the material outside the plant structure. The research approach is based on qualitative research. Data obtained from questionnaires, interviews, and observations on PGMI students Semester 4 academic year 2017/2018. Data analysis using Miles and Haberman version. The results showed that the implementation of the training through three stages of pre-training, training and evaluation. Training includes 10 menus, namely: making titles, core competencies, basic competencies, indicators, concept maps, aperception, sub material outside structure in plants, insert windows media player, practice questions, and compile learning resources. All the trainees were pleased with the material development training through the presentation slides, 75% said they were useful, and 87.25% said Powerpoint training was something new. The material difficulties faced by students are 50% in the form of structure and content, 25% are Powerpoint templates, 12.5% difficulties create hyperlinks and insert windows video player. Technical obstacles faced in general are 62.5% in the form of time settings, 25% HR, and 12,% laptop supplies are limited.
