Abstract

Pulmonary TB in children is often overlooked or ignored due to symptoms that are not specific in the diagnosis. The purpose of this study was to determine the experience of families caring for children with pulmonary TB in the work area of Lebdosari Community Health Center. Phenomenological approach with taking sampling use purposive sampling of five participants by collecting data through in-depth interviews and field notes. The researcher analyzes the data after and during the research, then to find out the validity of the data using member checking. The parents knew that the child was diagnosed with pulmonary TB from the results of a chest X-ray examination. Feeling sad and distrustful knowing that, when asked parents understand pulmonary TB as a cough, runny nose and fever that does not heal. Efforts include meeting nutritional needs, limiting activities and environmental hygiene. The challenge is when taking medication, the family provides support by assisting in taking the medicine and the parents hope that their child can be completely cured. Children affected by pulmonary TB need proper care include meeting nutritional needs, limiting activities, environmental hygiene and routine treatment, as well as family support needed to overcome obstacles in taking medication during the treatments process.

Abstract

Abstrak Keterlambatan penanganan kegawat daruratan dapat menyebabkan kecacatan dan kematian pada korban. Kurangnya pengetahuan pada warga RW VII Perumahan Graha Mandiri Residen Patemon, diketahui dari membawa korban yang tidak sadarkan diri ke rumah sakit, setelah diperiksa oleh dokter dan dinyatakan korban sudah meninggal. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dengan meberikan sosialisasi dan simulasi Bantuan Hidup Dasar (BHD) pada masyarakat. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dalam dua kali pertemuan yaitu pertemuan pertama dengan memberikan penyuluhan BHD, dan pertemuan kedua dengan memberikan simulasi/pelatihan penanganan kegawat daruratan dengan melakukan BHD.Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan pengetahuan, keterampilan dan respon yang sangat positif pada peserta, sehingga peserta dapat melakukan simulasi menolong korban yang mengalami kegawat daruratan dengan tepat dan benar. Kata Kunci: Sosialisasi, Simulasi, Bantuan Hidup Dasar Abstract Delay in handling emergency emergencies can cause disability and death for the victim. Lack of knowledge in residents of RW VII Residential Patemon Graha Mandiri Resident, known from bringing victims who were unconscious to the hospital, after being examined by a doctor and declared the victim had died. The purpose of community service activities is to increase community knowledge and skills by giving outreach and simulation of Basic Life Support (BLS) to the community. The activity was carried out in two meetings, namely the first meeting by providing BLS counseling, and the second meeting by providing a simulation / training on emergency management by conducting BLS. The results of the community service activities showed that there was an increase in knowledge, skills and responses that were very positive for the participants, so that participants could carry out simulations to help victims who experienced emergency emergencies correctly and correctly Keywords: Socialization, Simulation, Basic Life Support
