Abstract

Health Education improves family knowledge and performance in preventing the risk of falling from Lania. The population is all the elderly in crocodile holes that have fallen. The number of samples is 50 people. Sampling with proportional sampling. Collected using a questionnaire and analyzed by univatriate, bivatriate (dependent t test), and multivatriate with manova analysis. The results of the study showed significant differences before and given health education on knowledge (p = 0.001) with a difference in the average value = 0.9183, and a family skills score with a value of p = 0.035) with a difference in the average value = 1,100. gender is assessed against the level of knowledge with a value of P value = 0,000 and the status of the job depends on the skill value of the p value of 0.001. then it can help the success of education can improve aspects of family knowledge and skills in making failures in the elderly. Provided that proper education is given to families as a form of self-care and to implement appropriate environmental management to prevent the risk of falls.

Abstract

The elderly period is a time when the elderlies complain about various kinds of problems that are felt due to their deteriorating body condition. One of the problems experienced by the elderly is hypertension. Apart from being influenced by setbacks, it is also influenced by the lack of knowledge, attitudes, and skills of the family in caring for the elderly, so that it has an impact on the increasing cases of hypertension in the elderly. To control this condition, someone who has the ability and willingness to treat elderly hypertension is needed. This study aims to obtain an overview of the effect of the Parental Assistance Model Training which is: Energetic (Energik), Willing to help (Mau membantu), Active (Aktif), and Patience (Sabar) (POT EMAS) on increasing the ability of elderly cadres in caring for elderly people with hypertension. The research method used is a Quasi experiment without control group design. The sample is elderly cadres, as many as 30 people were determined by purposive sampling technique. Statistical test using dependent t-test. The results showed that the POT EMAS Model training could have a significant effect on increasing knowledge, changing attitudes, and changing the skills of elderly cadres in caring for elderly hypertension. For this reason, the POT EMAS Model can be used as material in carrying out training or refresher for elderly cadres.

Abstract

The number of new HIV cases in DKI Jakarta is increasing every year. The East Jakarta has the highest incidence of HIV cases. The increasing number of HIV cases is not followed by awareness of HIV test, especially pregnant women. The purpose of this study was to obtain an overview of the experience of health care providers in performing HIV tests on pregnant women. The research method was descriptive narrative with participants from health workers who did HIV tests on pregnant women. The research was conducted at two Community Health Center in East Jakarta. Interviews used structured questions, conducted for 30 – 55 minutes, and recorded using a digital voice recorder with 13 participants. The data were analyzed using content analysis techniques. The four themes emerged including HIV test was mandatory for pregnant women at the first visit (K1); emphasizing on explaining the benefits of HIV test for prevention of HIV transmission in children; coordinating in the implementation HIV test for pregnant women and handling of those who are HIV positive; and challenges in implementing HIV test. in pregnant women. Health education about the importance of HIV test for pregnant women should be done from an early age. Additional of reagents HIV test for mothers from other regions is needed. The results of this study are expected to be input in improving the quality of HIV test for pregnant women.
