Abstract

Communication is one of the skills that play an important role in the scope of life. Especially in the world of education, the ability to communicate can be improved through learning with innovative media delivered by teachers during teaching and learning activities. In supporting learning, one of the sophisticated digital media that is easily accessible is the learning management system Schoology. The purpose of this research is to find out the improvement of students' communication skills on the material of environmental change in senior high school through the application of the learning management system Schoology. Learning Management System Schoology is a site that combines the features of social networking and LMS. The method used is pre-experimental in the form of one group Pretest-Posttest design and the sampling technique is purposive sampling. The subjects in this study were students of class X MIPA 7 at SMAN 1 Palimanan, totaling 30 people. Based on the results of the calculation of N-gaincalculation it is known that this study has a significant developmental impact. The results showed an increase in students' communication skills by 16.92%. The average value of the Pretest is 65 which is included in the "Enough" category and increased in the Posttest with a value of 76 which is included in the "Good" category. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an increase in students' communication skills through the application of Learning management system Schoology on environmental change material in senior high school.

Abstract

Aim: This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of Eco Enzyme and EM1-based mudballs in improving river water quality by reducing COD and TSS. Methodology and Results: The study was conducted using an experimental method in the laboratory with four variations of mudballs, i.e. mudballs without additions, mudballs with Eco Enzyme, mudballs with effective microorganisms (EM1), and mudballs with a combination of Eco Enzyme and EM1. Artificial river water samples were made using glucose and kaolin solutions, and water quality was measured using the closed reflux method for COD, the gravimetric method for TSS, and pH measurements. Conclusion, significance and impact study: The results showed that all variations of mudballs were able to reduce COD and TSS values, but only the variation with a combination of Eco Enzyme and EM1 showed the most significant reduction in COD even though it had not reached the quality standard according to Government Regulation No. 22 of 2021. This variation was also effective in removing 100% TSS, and all variations managed to maintain the pH value within a safe range (6-9). The conclusion of this study is that the combination of Eco Enzyme and EM1 in mudballs provides the best results in improving river water quality, especially in TSS removal. However, further optimization is needed to remove COD to meet water quality standards.

Abstract

Tanaman pakcoy adalah salahsatu komoditas sayuran yang cukup banyak digemari oleh masyarakat, terutama di kalangan menengah ke bawah. Selain harganya terjangkau, juga memiliki cita rasa yang lezat juga dapat diolah dalam berbagai hidangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas biourin kuda diperkaya dengan pupuk hayati pada pertumbuhan tanaman pakcoy, sebagai alternatif pupuk organik cair yang dapat digunakan, terutama di lokasi sekitar tempat pemeliharaan kuda. Penelitian ini dilakukan dari bulan Januari sampai Juni 2023 dengan menggunakan desain Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari lima perlakuan dan lima pengulangan. Hasil penelitian pemberian perlakuan biourin kuda diperkaya dengan pupuk  hayati  pada pertumbuhan  tanaman pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.)  menunjukkan hasil yang optimal pada konsentrasi 30% untuk parameter tinggi batang serta optimal pada konsentrasi 35% bagi parameter jumlah daun dan bobot tanaman. Pupuk cair organik dari biourin kuda dapat meningkakan bobot tanaman pakcoy pada konsentrasi 30 – 35 %

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan virtual laboratory yang layak untuk pembelajaran Mikrobiologi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan menggunakan metode ADDIE, yang terdiri dari lima fase yaitu: Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, dan Evaluate. Subjek dalam penelitian ini merupakan mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Bengkulu yang sedang mengambil matakuliah mikrobiologi sebanyak 20 orang untuk uji kepraktisan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik wawancara dan angket. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu lembar wawancara dan lembar angket. Data hasil validasi kelayakan dan uji kepraktisan dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil uji validasi oleh validator menunjukkan bahwa produk virtual laboratory yang dikembangkan diperoleh skor 95,45% dari ahli materi, dan skor 91,67 % dari ahli media. Hasil uji kepraktisan menunjukkan persentase sebesar 92,14% dengan kriteria sangat praktis. Disimpulkan bahwa virtual laboratory mikrobiologi yang dikembangkan layak untuk digunakan sebagai suplemen praktikum mikrobiologi.

Abstract

Bioteknologi merupakan matakuliah yang menuntut kapasitas kognitif tinggi karena melibatkan konsep-konsep kompleks dan aplikasi teknologi dalam sistem biologis. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengoptimalkan kapasitas kognitif mahasiswa melalui integrasi teknologi Artificial Intelligence (AI) dalam pembelajaran Bioteknologi. Metode penelitian menggunakan quasi-experimental design dengan pre-test post-test control group pada 60 mahasiswa yang dibagi menjadi kelompok eksperimen menggunakan AI dan kelompok kontrol dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen penelitian meliputi tes kapasitas kognitif yang mencakup dimensi pemahaman konsep, analisis, sintesis, dan evaluasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan kapasitas kognitif mahasiswa pada kelompok eksperimen dengan N-gain 0,72 (kategori tinggi) dibandingkan kelompok kontrol dengan N-gain 0,45 (kategori sedang). Teknologi AI berupa adaptive learning system, virtual laboratory, dan intelligent tutoring system terbukti efektif meningkatkan pemahaman konsep kompleks seperti rekayasa genetika dan kultur jaringan. Analisis lebih lanjut menunjukkan bahwa AI mampu memberikan personalisasi pembelajaran sesuai dengan kecepatan belajar dan gaya kognitif masing-masing mahasiswa. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa teknologi AI dapat menjadi solusi inovatif dalam mengoptimalkan kapasitas kognitif mahasiswa pada pembelajaran Bioteknologi yang kompleks

Abstract

Alternaria sp. is one the causess of diseases that attack citrus crops. Pest and diseases control efforts by farmers more often use pesticide synthesis. This study aims to determine the inhibition of mushroom growth and other benefits of galangal extract as a natural fungicide and determine the optimum concentration of galangan extract inhibiting the growth mushroom of Alternaria sp.. The method used was experimental, testing conducted by growing mycelium mushroom Alternaria sp. on a PDA that has been mixed with extract of galangal in according to the respective concentrations and analyze growth response by measuring the diameter. The best results indicated by the treatments 60% that control the growth of mushrooms with deaths amounted to 79%. This shown that galangal extract is able to control the growth of Alternaria sp. at concentrations 60% compared to a concentration of 20%, 30%, 40% and 50% because the active compounds at concentrations that are 60% higher, so galangal extract diffuse into the cell the growing of mushrooms and may cause disruption the growth mushrooms Alternaria sp.. The higher concentration of extract given, the ability to controlling the growth mushroom of Alternaria sp. the better. The utilization of galangal material is done as an alternative fungicide in the control of plant diseases that are eco friendly.
