Abstract

Puspitahati et al, 2017. Analysis of Water Balance in Water Supply Against Climate Change in some Sub-Watersheds Musi. JLSO 6(2):192-202. Rainfall and land cover in the Musi Sub-watershed affect water availability. Both of these components are inputs from the water balance which will affect fluctuations and water level so that it will affect evapotranspiration, run off, and flowrate. The purpose of the study was to determine how the effects of climate change on water availability in the Sub-watershed of Musi Watershed. This study was focus on four Sub-watersheds contained on the Musi river basin, namely Musi Sub-watershed, Komering Sub-watershed, Ogan Sub-watershed and Lematang Sub-watershed. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Soil and Water Engineering, Department of Agriculture Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University from September 2013 to January 2014. Methods used in this research were descriptive method, the study of literature and secondary data taking, while the analysis was done with tabulation and graphs. The conclusion were 1) The availability of water was affected by changes in rainfall, population growth, and land cover types, 2) The highest rainfall was in Komering Sub-watershed equal to 105.23 mm/month, the highest run off was in Komering Sub-watershed equal to 33.67 mm/month, while the highest of evapotranspiration was in  Lematang Sub-watershed equal to 121.69 mm/month. Thus, we can find out how the effects of climate change on water availability in sub-watersheds in the Musi River Basin.

Abstract

Theobjective of this research was to analyze burning and heating on the stove ofjatropha-seeds with various of diameters and sarangan holes, in order to achieve the higher efficiency of the stoveof jatropha-seeds.  Thisresearch has been conducted in the machinery and workshop laboratory of TheAgricultural Engineering Program, The Agricultural Technology Department,Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya from April 2011 to October2011.  Themethod which is used in this research is block randomized design factorialmethod which consist of two treatment factors and each treatment factor consistof two stages and each treatment combination is repeated three times. The firsttreatment with two stages is the diameter of the sarangan holes (3 mm and 4mm), the second treatment with two stages is the amount of the sarangan holesper cm2 (2 pieces/cm2 and 4 pieces/cm2).  The parameter observed include the mainparameters and the supporting parameter. The main parameter is the fuel combustion rate, flame height ,efficiencyof water heating, the rate of water heating, and the supporting parameter includingflame temperature, fuel efficiency, burning time of the jatropha fuels, waterheating time, the difference temperature on the components of the stove.  The research result showed the best that sarangancontained on D1X1 with a combination of diameter (3 mm)and the amount of sarangan holes per-cm2 (2 pieces/cm2)with 0,69 kg/jam of combustion rate, 30 cm of flame height, the rate of waterheating 0,1245kkal/s, and the efficiency of waterheating 8,86 %. Keywords :The jatropha-seeds stove, Jatropha-seed fuels, and Sarangan of the jatropha-seedsstove

Abstract

Khalid F, Saleh E, Purnomo RH.  2019. The determination of water requirement and crop coefficient (Kc) of paddy (Oryza sativa L.) in swampy land. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal 2019, Palembang  4-5 September 2019. pp. 140-156. Palembang: Unsri Press. This research aimed to determine the water requirement and coefficient of paddy in swampy land. This research was conducted from January to June 2019. The research used an experimental method with descriptive data presented in the form of tables and graphs. The results showed that the net water requirement from the initial season, crop development, mid season and late season were 1.05 mm/day, 4.64 mm/day, 11.20 mm/day and 18.72 mm/day. The evapotranspiration measurements results (ETc) from the initial season, crop development, mid season and late season were 1.23 mm/day, 2.57 mm/day, 2.64 mm/day and 1,57 mm/day, for plant coefficients (Kc) respectively were 0.42; 0.89; 1.01 and 0.62. The largest evapotranspiration values and plant coefficient were occured during the growth period of 31 to 65 days or mid season. Keywords:  net water requirements, evapotranspiration, coefficient of crops, percolation, swampy land
