Abstract

JLSO 7(2):185-195.South Pemulutan is one of the sub-districts in Ogan Ilir Regency which has swamp paddy fields potential to be developed. Unfortunately, the use of production factors which applied by the farmers has not been maximized. Therefore, proper management by using production factors efficiently and effectively can increase productivity and maintain the sustainability of their farm. Moreover, the aims of this research were (1) to analyze the factors which affect the low productivity of the swamp paddy fields, (2) to calculate the percentage of an income of the swamp paddy fields’ farmer which can fulfill their household outcome, (3) to calculate the minimum land area of the swamp paddy fields of the farmer. The method were used in this research was survey method. The sample of the farmers which taken in this study were 30 farmers from 187 farmers which works on swamp paddy fields in Lebak Pering village. The data was gathered consist of the primary data and the secondary data. The result of this research showed (1) factors which extremely affected toward swamp paddy fields productivity in Lebak Pering village was the largest of the area, seed variety, the used of urea fertilizer, the experiences of the farmer, while those that have no effect are the used of SP-36 fertilizer, NPK fertilizer and then the pesticides. (2) The contribution of swamp paddy fields farmers’ income to farmers' consumption expenditure were 60.28%. (3) The minimum land area that suggested to be cultivated by the farmer is 1 hectare and if the farmer only relies on their swamp paddy fields farming, then the minimum land area that suggested to be raised by the farmer is 1.66 hectares.

Abstract

Food Independent Area Program (KMP) was aimed for people in food insecure/needy area with the main purpose was to fulfill the family food needs and at the end, can increase the community income so that they can be more independent. The aims of this research were to find out how the implementation, participation and how much the contribution of the income from food independent area program to the family income. To answer how the implementation of food independent area program and participation of affinity group members to the food independent area program used descriptive analysis with likert scale. Meanwhile to find out the contribution of income from food independent area program to the family income used income anyalisis. This research concluded that the implementation of KMP program in South Pemulutan Sub-Dictrict Ogan Ilir Regency has only reached the fourth stage of the set five stages in food independent area, the average of community participation was 41,37 which mean the community pasticipation to the food independent area program at affinity village had high category or highly participating and an increase in the family income at food independent area of 31,36% or 5.799.000,00 Rupiah per year, from total income of 18.314.224,52 Rupiah per year.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah : 1) Menghitung besarnya kontribusi pendapatan dari  usahatani padi sawah lebak terhadap pendapatan rumah tangga petani, 2) Menganalisis alokasi pengeluaran pendapatan rumah tangga petani padi sawah lebak di Kabupaten Ogan Ilir. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode sampel acak sederhana (Simple Random Sampling). Data yang digunakan adalah data primer dan data sekunder. Metode analisis data menggunakan perhitungan matematis dengan analisis usahatani dan dijelaskan secara deskriftif. Hasil penelitian ini kiranya dapat berfungsi sebagai informasi dan bahan pertimbangan dalam pengambilan kebijakan di bidang pertanian. Terutama kebijakan yang berkaitan dengan peningkatan pendapatan rumahtangga petani padi sawah lebak di Kabupaten Ogan Ilir dan aspek keilmuan diharapkan sebagai bahan perbandingan kelengkapan pustaka bagi pihak-pihak terkait dan pada penelitian-penelitian terkait berikutnya. Persentase kontribusi pendapatan yang berasal dari usahatani pokok yaitu usahatani padi sawah lebak lebih besar dari kontribusi pendapatan di luar usahatani padi lebak. Kontribusi rata-rata pendapatan usahatani padi sawah lebak yaitu sebesar : Rp 13.892.773,41 lg/mt/th atau 72,66 persen. Rata-rata persentase kontribusi pendapatan di luar usahatani padi (pendapatan usahatani selain padi sawah lebak dan non usahatani) yaitu Rp. 5,227,724.41 atau 27,34 persen. Dari perhitugan analisis kontribusi pendapatan usahatani padi sawah lebak di dapat, KUP 48 = 66,8 % ≤ 72,66 ≤ 100 %. Maka dikatagorikan adalah besar. Berdasarkan alokasi pengeluaran, total pengeluaran rumahtangga petani di Desa Maju Jaya sebesar Rp 19.087.150,00 /tahun. Jika dilihat secara keseluruhan, sebagian besar pendapatan total dialokasikan untuk biaya pangan (makan dan minum). Pengeluaran untuk biaya pangan adalah sebesar 37,74 persen atau Rp. 7.384.016,67/tahun dari pendapatan total keluarga

Abstract

Optimum land for food plants becoming decrease. Sub optimal land become alternative way for government to gain food self-sufficient specifically for paddy. Pemulutan area in Ogan Ilir Regency is one of sub optimal land for agriculture which typology is swamp land. Farmers in this area rearrengements their commodity without calculating in economics. This caused the income that they accepted can not be maximum because of agriculture pattern. The aimed of this research were 1) to determine what is the agriculture pattern that can earn maximum income, 2) to find out whats the problem thas why paddy’s farmer in swamp land area can not be applied the optimal pattern. The method used in this research was Linear Programing Model with ABQM program. The results showed that the agriculture pattern that recommended in shallow swamp land is chili and bean, in middle swamp land is corn, chili and bean and in the deep swamp land we can only plant paddy. The pattern of agriculture that mentioned can increase the income of the farmers is about Rp. 13.164.269,60. The fence that farmers can not apply this pattern is the land that is limited, and the flooded area or water fluctuation so that farmers only plant once a year which caused many worker can not allocation use theit time effectively.

Abstract

Livelihood strategies are various alternative efforts carried out by households to fulfill living needs for sustainable livelihoods. Through the livelihoods approach, we can understand how people/communities create a livelihood, and how they try to survive. The lives of lowland rice farmers on the outskirts of Palembang City are inseparable from the problem of the water regime conditions of the lowlands with all the impacts it causes as well as social and economic aspects and resource aspects (land conversion) from agriculture to residential and housing land. This research aims to 1) analyze the level of business diversity of farmer households, 2) calculate the amount of income of lowland rice farmer households from the on farm, off farm and non farm sectors. 3) distribute the contribution of various incomes from the off-farm and non-farm sectors to the household income of lowland rice farmers on the outskirts of Palembang City. The data used and the analysis carried out used a combination of primary survey data and qualitative data from the results of in-depth interviews with a sample of 32 families. The results of the research show that the diversity of household businesses of lebak farmers on the outskirts of Palembang City, with the calculation of the entropy index, obtained a value of 0.73. This shows that the efforts made by household members are very good. diverse. The average income from rice farming is Rp. 16,168,113.32 /lg/yr and its contribution to the household is moderate (54.96%), the average non-rice farming income is Rp. 4,319,548.42/year with its contribution to households in the low criteria category (14.68%), and the average non-farming income is IDR. 8,928,750.00/year and its contribution to households in the medium criteria category (30.35%).
