Abstract

Since teaching is a profession that is affected by individual beliefs, so a teacher’s beliefs toward her own profession can affect her teaching performance. The aim of this study was to find out and explain the impacts of the beliefs of teachers of English in Bireuen District. towards their teaching profession. This is a quantitative study which involved thirty English teachers, teaching at high schools in Bireuen as the respondents. The data was collected using two sets of questionnaires and was analyzed using SPSS descriptive statistics. The results showed that the teachers mostly agreed with overall job-related beliefs; they were satisfied with their jobs; they had high self-efficacy and they received satisfying appraisals and feedbacks. Concerning impacts of beliefs, three namely: overal job-related beliefs, job satisfaction, and self-efficacy -—gave big impacts while the last principle, appraisals and feedbacks, only had a small impact. In conclusion, teahers in Bireun have positive beliefs and this gives positive impacts as well. So, the suggestion that can be made is that because of this positivity, the teachers are suggested to focus on self-improvement as educators such as participating in more teacher  development programs

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine elementary schools teachers’ perception on inclusive teaching in Bireuen as well as to investigate whether or not teachers from inclusive school and teachers from non-inclusive schools show significant differences in term of perception. The participants of this research were two teachers from inclusive school and another two from non-inclusive schools. They were selected based on their willingness to involve in the research. This research was qualitative study so interview guide were used to collect data. The collected data were analysed and interpreted through qualitative procedures; data condensation, data display and data verification. The results of the interview show that teachers have positive outlook toward inclusive education. The non-inclusive teachers are on the right tract of becoming better inclusive teachers. There were no significant differences in perception about inclusive education between non-inclusive teachers and inclusive teachers. What differentiates them is their self-efficacy. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe a language development at a very young age. The method of the study was descriptive method. The data was collected from NR who was 1.2 years old girl. In collecting the data, the researcher observed her interaction at home and interviewed NR and her mother. Every word the researchers understand from her was written down, described, and classified. From the data, the researcher concluded that NR understood and spoke both languages equally. She used the same amount of words from both Bahasa Indonesia and Acehnese.She also showed the ability to differentiate between the two languages when she talked. She can easily switch from one language to another depend on who she was taking to. This shows an early sign of bilingualism.
