Abstract

Caci dance is one of the traditional fighting dances that is unique and contains an intense value. Caci is often displayed during traditional events of the Manggarai tribe. This shows that Caci is an essential part of the journey of the Manggarai community. Caci dance is now widely known because of its uniqueness and because the dance moves are hazardous because they contain physical violence; this is undoubtedly very interesting to study more deeply. The main problem is How the value of Caci reduces the perspective of Violence in Caci perceived by the audience. This study aims to determine the values that exist in the Caci dance and how the true meaning of Caci is so that it can change the perspective of the broader community that Caci is not only a dance that teaches physical violence. This descriptive qualitative research is located in Lentang Village, Lelak District, Manggarai Regency. Data was collected directly from local sources through interviews with traditional leaders and conducting a content analysis on YouTube channels categorised as having many viewers, national television channels, and Caci performances. This study shows that the art of Caci dance does not teach physical violence. Still, Caci has strong historical values and influences the social life of the Manggarai community. Caci has a definite philosophical meaning, showing the character of the Caci players. In conclusion, the values contained in Caci can strengthen socio-cultural values in the Manggarai community, in this case, significantly able to maintain the existence of Caci dance as a cultural identity with the values of life contained in it

Abstract

Social media basically has a function to share information related to user activities and convey information about themselves or called self-disclosures. However, users are not broadly and freely conveying something because of an attitude of vigilance so that there is limited space for movement that must be considered and needs to be considered. Social media that is currently in great demand is Instagram with various interesting features, one of which is the close friend feature that can be used to limit the user's space in providing information related to privacy. This study uses the theory of Human Communication proposed by Littlejohn (1996) as the main conceptual framework for a broader analysis of how the close friend feature influences users' self-disclosure using a descriptive qualitative approach. Overall, the results of interviews with five user informants of the close friend feature indicate that users want to create a sense of security, and limit their movement space so that users can control the situation in the sense that users know anyone who sees information about themselves intentionally and believes that close friends become proper space maintain privacy. Abstract

This article discusses the traditional fighting dance widely known as Caci. Caci still exists in the Manggarai tribe East Nusa Tenggara, a sacred ceremony and contains a moral message value. In this study, we will examine how the value of Caci reduces the perspective of Violence. The data comes from YouTube about the Caci in Manggarai and interviews with an informant. This study used the structuration theory proposed by Anthony Giddens. Based on the results is behind the Caci performance, which is so aggressive, the iconic its uniqueness has an implied meaning about the relationship the humans with God. For the Manggarai tribe, being physically injured in Caci is a natural thing to happen and doesn't count as violent or fighting with opponents.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the phenomenon at the 2022 Oscars. The origin of this issue is the tragic joke-turned-tragic slapping by Chris Rock. This research utilized a descriptive qualitative methodology. The primary source for this study was content analysis data from Oscar 2022, when Chris Rock hosted. This research's objective was determined in three steps: data gathering from YouTube and Instagram channels, data analysis, and discussion and results. After all the data was collected, the researchers tried to find the theory of superiority and underestimation in Gauter (1988) as the situation showed how Chris Rock used Jada Pinkett as a joke. Based on data analysis, the researchers determined that the OSCAR 2022 case study was separated into the following sections: The context of comedy, Moral power, and code of ethics on stage. Based on the analysis results, the researchers found out that the most important takeaway from this topic is that not everything is appropriate and worthy of being converted into a joke, much alone entertaining the public.
