Abstract

Malayan Porcupine is one of the protected wildlife in Indonesia. This animal has many benefits for humans. But the population continues to decline due to poaching. One way to save is with the conservation of these animals. Captive of Deer Park Village Lamtanjong is one conservation area in Aceh. This research was conducted in August until September 2016. The purpose of research was to determine the condition of the habitat Malayan Porcupine. The object of research is two tailed Malayan Porcupine, each of which is located in the village of Deer Park Breeding Lamtanjong Aceh Besar district and the village of Panton Luas South Aceh.  Data about the condition of the habitat is done by direct measurements during the research. Based on the research data is the average temperature during the research in Captive Deer Park Village Lamtanjong 28˚C (morning), 30,5˚C (noon), and 32,5˚C (afternoon),  While the temperature in the village of Panton Luas is at 24˚C (morning), 30˚C (noon), and 31,3˚C (afternoon).  Data humidity Captive Deer Park Village Lamtanjong was 44% (morning), 28% (noon), and 20% (afternoon), while the average humidity in the village of Panton Luas is 46.3 % (morning), 29% (noon), and 24% (afternoon).  Data measuring soil pH is 3,6 to Captive deer park Lamtanjong village, and 4.5 for the village of Panton Luas. Extensive data Breeding cage Malayan Porcupine in Deer Park is 3.15 m2 with a height of 2.3 meters, and 1.5 m2 with a height of 60 cm for Hedgehog in the village of Panton Luas. The conclusion of this research is the breeding habitat conditions in Deer Park and in the village of Panton Luas already support for the maintenance of a Porcupine.

Abstract

Abstrak            Status rusa di Indonesia hingga saat ini masih merupakan satwa liar yang dilindungi oleh undang-undang.  Selain itu International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) juga menyebutkan bahwa rusa dikategorikan dalam jenis yang rentan akibat populasinya yang terus menurun tiap tahunnya (IUCN, 2015). Salah satu upaya untuk menjaga kelestarian, keseimbangan ekosistem dan potensi satwa liar melalui upaya konservasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perilaku makan Rusa Totol di kandang habituasi dalam kawasan konservasi ex-situ di Wisata Alam Taman Rusa Lamtanjong Aceh Besar. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Wisata Alam Taman Rusa Lamtanjong Kabupaten Aceh Besar pengamatan dilakukan selama 14 hari. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif, pendekatan pada penelitian ini merupakan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan waktu aktif makan pada Rusa Totol yaitu 6 jam dalam 12 jam pengamatan selama 14 hari dalam rentan waktu yang berbeda. Simpulan penelitian adalah waktu aktif makan Rusa Totol selama 14 hari yang dilakukan dipenangkaran Desa Lamtanjong Kabupaten Aceh Besar adalah 6 jam dalam 12 jam pengamatan. Kata kunci : Rusa Totol (Axis axis), Perilaku Makan Abstract In Indonesia, the deers are classified in the protected animal and belong under the jurisdiction of the legal law. Furthermore, the international union for conservation of nature or as known as IUCN stated that the deer is categorized as the rare and endangered animal because it population been down and down years to years (IUCN 2015). The conservation acts as the real action in order to preserving the nature and to prevent the animal extinction. The goal of this research is to find out the results of palatability test and also to find it how high does the percentage of the nutrition that contained in the spotted deer’s forage in habituation cage in ex-situ conservation area in Lamtanjong Aceh Besar. The research took place in Taman Rusa Park, Lamtanjong Aceh Besar. This observation in this research was held in 14 days. This is a descriptive research which used the qualitative approach. Based on the results during the observation in Lamtanjong, the data shown that the active time for spotted deer to eat  was 6 hours from 12 hours that chosen in sequentially time. The conclusion is, based on the observation that had been done in 14 days shown that the spotted deer’s mealtime is 6 hours in 12 hours observation. Keywords : spotted deer (axis axis). Abstract. The objective of this research was to find out the effectiveness of henna leaf extract (Lawsonia inermis L.) on A. hydrophila in vitro and its effect on the survival rate of Clarias gariepinus that infected by those bacterias in vivo. The research was conducted at chemistry laboratory of Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Syiah Kuala University and at Microbiology laboratory, Brackishwater aquaculture Department Center, Ujong Batee on Avril to September, 2015. The research involved in vitro test with the inhibition zone as measured parameter and in vivo test with the survival rate value as measured parameter. The treated concentrations were 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5% of extract. The result of in vitro test showed that henna leaf extract was effective against A. hydrophila with the inhibition zone for 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5% extract were 5.45; 5.7; 6.5; 7.5; and 9.6 mm, respectively. The result of ANOVA test showed that henna leaf extract has a significant effect on the survival rate of catfish (P0.05). The best survival rate was obtained at 4% of extract  concentration.  Keywords: Aeromonas hydrophila; henna leaf extract; catfishAbstrak. Hasil uji in vitro menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun inai (Lawsonia inermis L.) terbukti efektif terhadap Aeromonas hydrophila dengan nilai zona  hambat secara berturut-turut terhadap konsentrasi 1, 2, 3, 4 dan 5% adalah 5,45; 5,7; 6,5; 7,5; dan 9,6 mm. Hasil uji ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun inai berpengaruh nyata (P0,05) terhadap kelangsungan hidup ikan lele sangkuriang.
