Abstract

This research aims to clarify the influence of discounts on purchase intentions, influence the discount on the purchase decisions, and influence the purchase intentions towards purchase decisions. This research method was conducted by explanatory research with a quantitative approach. The variable in this study include the discount, purchase intentions, and purchase decisions. The population of this study are consumers who buy products at a discount of Matahari Department Store Pasar Besar Malang. A sample of 116 respondents taken using a purposive sampling technique and methods of data collection using the questionnaire. The analysis of the data used is descriptive analysis and path analysis. The results of path analysis shows that, of the discounts influential directly and significantly to the purchase intentions, discount effect insignificant against a purchase decisions, purchase intentions influential directly and significantly to the purchase decisions. Thus, the Matahari Department Store Pasar Besar Malang must be more active in promoting about discount and established communication with consumers about the existence of a discount product. Keyword : Discount, Purchase Intentions, Purchase Decisions ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pengaruh diskon terhadap minat beli, pengaruh diskon terhadap keputusan pembelian, dan pengaruh minat beli terhadap keputusan pembelian. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian penjelasan atau explanatory research dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Variabel dalam penelitian ini meliputi diskon, minat beli, dan keputusan pembelian. Populasi penelitian ini adalah konsumen yang membeli produk diskon di Matahari Department Store Pasar Besar Malang. Sampel sebanyak 116 orang responden yang diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan metode pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan analisis jalur (path analysis). Hasil analisis jalur (path analysis) menunjukkan bahwa, variabel diskon berpengaruh langsung dan signifikan terhadap variabel minat beli, variabel diskon berpengaruh tidak signifikan terhadap variabel keputusan pembelian, variabel minat beli berpengaruh langsung dan signifikan terhadap variabel keputusan pembelian. Dengan demikian, Matahari Department Store Pasar Besar harus lebih aktif dalam mempromosikan mengenai diskon dan menjalin komunikasi dengan konsumen tentang keberadaan produk diskon. Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to understand the influence of city branding toward city image and its impact on the intention to visit and decision to visit. The samples used in this study were 280 domestic visitors there is a tourism desti-nation in Yogyakarta City and they aware of “Jogja istimewa” as a brand of Yogyakarta City. It is the destination tourism that located on seven destinations consist of Keraton Yogyakarta, Pagelaran Keraton, Malioboro, Museum Benteng Vredeburg, Taman Sari, Taman Pintar, and Gembira Loka Zoo. Structural Equation Model (SEM) base on Partial Least Square (PLS) is used to analyze and measure the degree between the independent variable and dependent variable. The findings revealed that city branding has a significant effect toward city image and intention to visit, however city brand-ing also influenced on decision to visit incidentally. Moreover, it indicates that city image has a significant effect on intention to visit and decision to visit. Last but not least, the intention to visit has a significant effect on decision to visit.
