Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of target training on the shooting accuracy of futsal players from the Student Association of the Physical Education Study Program at Muhammadiyah University of Palopo. The research employed a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design, specifically a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population consisted of students actively participating in futsal activities, with a sample of 40 participants selected using a purposive sampling technique. The instrument used was a modified futsal shooting accuracy test administered before (pretest) and after (posttest) the treatment. The treatment in the form of target training was conducted over six weeks with a frequency of three sessions per week. The results showed an improvement in the average shooting accuracy score from 6.25 in the pretest to 9.52 in the posttest. Hypothesis testing using a paired sample t-test revealed a t-value of -20.991 with a significance value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results. Therefore, it can be concluded that target training has a significant effect on improving the shooting accuracy of futsal players from the Student Association of the Physical Education Study Program at Muhammadiyah University of Palopo.
