Abstract

STUDI PENGOLAHAN LIMBAH DARI PROSES DAUR BAHAN BAKAR NUKLIR. Telah dilakukan pengkajian terhadap pengolahan limbah dari proses daur bahan bakar nuklir. Limbah daur bahan bakar nuklir dihasilkan dari berbagai fasilitas dalam lingkup daur bahan bakar nuklir seperti fasilitas pemurnian uranium, pengayaan dan pabrikasi bahan bakar nuklir, termasuk limbah transuranium (TRU) yang dihasilkan dari fasilitas pabrikasi bahan bakar Mixed Oxide (MOX) dan fasilitas olah ulang. Limbah radioaktif aktivitas tinggi (High Level Waste/HLW) diolah dengan cara pemadatan untuk menjaga kestabilan limbah. Limbah hasil pengolahan disimpan selama 30 -50 tahun untuk pendinginan, kemudian disimpan pada tanah dalam yang disebut sebagai penyimpanan lestari. Limbah uranium dengan umur paruh panjang yang dihasilkan dari proses pemurnian, pengayaan dan pabrikasi bahan bakar sebagian besar mempunyai aktivitas rendah sehingga perlu dipertimbangkan metode penyimpanan yang sesuai. ABSTACT STUDY OF WASTE THE TREATMENT FROM NUCLEAR FUEL CYCLING PROCESS. Study of the Waste treatment from nuclear fuel cycling process have been done. Fuel cycle wastes were arisen from the facilities in the nuclear fuel cycle facilities, such as uranium purification, enrichment, and nuclear fuel fabrication facilities, include transuranium (TRU) waste that arisen from Mixed Oxide (MOX) fuel fabrication and processing facilities. High level radioactive waste (HLW) was treated by solidification process to keep waste stability. The treated waste was stored for 30 -50 years to cooling, and then stored in deep geologic for disposal. Uranium waste with long half life that arisen from purification process, enrichment and fuel fabrication have majority low activity so that it needed to  be considered to the appropiate of storage method.
