Abstract

The research was conducted to identify waste in preparation department. Those waste are identified during define, measure, and analyze phase in DMAIC. The identification process is based on eight waste principle. The identified waste ae defect, delay, non-utilized talent, inventory, and overprocessing. Improvement idea is suggested to the company in order to reduce those waste. The result shows that the improvement ideas can reduce 64,01% of warping’s preparation time and 28% warping’s process time. The improvement idea also reduce 3,6% of dyeing sizing’s preparation time and 47,3% of dyeing sizing’s process time.

Abstract

Occupational health and safety are one of important factor which can affect employees’ performance. The risk of accidents will rise if the company does not supervise the regulation of occupational safety and health policy. PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk. is pretty concern about this policy with the result of increased employees’ productivity. High employees’ performance will achieve high quality project target. This study uses questionnaire method that filled by construction employees to find the effect of occupational safety and health policy to construction employees performance. The data will be tested with double linear regression and hypothesis test. In addition, the author use simultaneous test (F test) and partial test (T test) for the hypothesis test. The double linear regression test result is occupational health variable has a bigger effect to employees performance that occupational safety. The simultaneously result is F has bigger value than Ftable, that means both of independent variables have a positive significant effect to construction employees performance. Furthermore, the partial test gives bigger T value than Ttable, which describes every independent variable have a positive significant effect to construction employees’ productivity.

Abstract

Java Paragon Hotel and Residences is a hotel and apartment which located at Sura-baya. This project focused on designing of SOP and check sheet for preventive maintenance pro-gram. Background of this problem is the occurrence of multitasking and large number of staff that haven’t been trained well, so it needs a standard in doing preventive maintenance. Multi-tasking and the new employees occurred because of high turnover of ME Engineering. This pro-ject uses direct observation in the field and Q&A against the staff of Engineering Department. The results of the observations then organized into a SOP in the form of tables and is divided into 4 major activities, which are Checking, Cleaning, Lubrication, and Troubleshooting. Based on the existing SOP then it leads check sheet as a monitoring tools. Monitoring performed with purpose overseeing the implementation of preventive maintenance and the alignment with the existing SOP.

Abstract

A good implementation of occupational safety and health management system could improve the protection effectiveness of safety and worker’s health. This research has a purposes which is to plan a document of Hazard Identification, Risk Assesment and Risk Control (HIRARC) based on OHSAS 18001:2007. These HIRARC documents are made to fulfill consu­ment requirements and reduce employee medical expenses. The results shows 28% of activities consi­derate to be low risk, 55% of activities considerate to be moderate risk, and 17% of activities considerate to be high risk. Total HIRARC documents are 45 documents. Activities in process area, preparation, and finishing area are considered to be high risk. The most hazardous area at warehouse is paint chemical warehouse. Risk controlling is being done by elimination, subs­titution, engineering, and administration methodes. The top management must committed to implement occupatinal health and safety policies properly on the company, so the cost required to handle workplace accidents can also be reduced.
