Abstract

DESIGN OF TRANSMISSION MECHANICS OF DETECTOR AND SOURCE OF GAMMA SCANNING. Mechanicl transmission system of both detector and source of gamma scanning is equipment for scanning of a column production for chemical and or combustion process to monitor if any nternal component inside the column found defective or any trouble inside the column. To have precision result of the scanning, it is required to have a mechanical transmission system that will not be affected by any vibration coming from both translation movement moving devices and environment wind. Moreover the placement between the detector and the source must be in line coordinate system. This transmission system must be easily used and fit for the available column process on site. To support the requirements, a design has been proposed by placing the source case and the detector used at the gantry arm having a slit for moving direction along the gantry arm. The arm has 2.000 mm in diameter with the possibility to move 1.500 mm up and down. The diameter of the column to be scanned is 1.000 mm, and the design of this mechanical transmission is to be portable so that it can be easily fit to any column process.

Abstract

An anal ysis of bolt strenght carrier rail  foundation of gamma irradiator for steri lization of agricultural products. It has been designed foundati on bol ts to fasten the rai l carrier at closed l oop ci rcui t i n the sterili zation and non sterilization room, in which the ci rcui t l enght is abaut 100 meter. The rail will be used as a circuit by 19 carriers i n whi ct each carri er has weight abaut 19000 kg. The 19000 kg load wil l be in motion or stand stil l, hung up for 24 working hours, and produce same vi brations. Therefore an analysis for the strenght of the bolt foundition shoul d be carried out for the sake of safety of related i nstruments, agricult ural  products, and the operator i n duty. From the calcul ation shows that the bolt of M16x2 with effecti ve lenght 455 mm can be used, and the vibration can be attenvated using  gaya -31,4847 kg of  force, so that the vi bration wi ll stop at the time the carrier moving. ANALISIS KEKUATAN BAUT PONDASI REL CARRIER PADA IRADIATOR GAMMA UNTUK STERILISASI HASIL PERTANIAN.  Telah dirancang baut pondasi yang digunakan untuk mengikat rel carri er yang mempunyai  li ntasan tertutup pada ruang steril isasi dan non sterilisasi  dengan panjang li ntasan rel sekitar 100 m. Rel merupakan li ntasan carri er yang membawa sebanyak 19 carrier  dengan berat beban sekitar 19000 kg. Beban sebesar 19000 kg dapat bergerak, diam dan menggantung dal am waktu 24 jam kerja, serta menimbul kan getaran, oleh karenanya perlu dilakukan analisis terhadap rancangan kekuatan baut dan murnya agar dapat terjamin keselamatan terhadap alat, produksi dan operator. Dari perhi tungan dihasilkan  baut ukuran M16x2 dengan panjang efektif 455 mm dan getaran yang timbul  akibat gerakan carrier dapat di redam dengan gaya -31,4847 kg, sehingga dapat menghentikan getaran saatcarrier bergerak.
