Abstract

This experiment was carried out to determine the efficiency of inorganic fertilizer in the main nursery of oil palm with the application of empty fruit bunches and the addition of local microorganisms (MOL) Mucuna bracteata. The experiment was conducted by using a factorial design, arranged in a completely randomized design with three replications. The first factor was the dose of inorganic fertilizer (100%, 75%, 50%, 25% ), the second factors was dose of empty fruit bunhes (efb) compost (0%, 15%, 30%, 45% by volume), and the third factor was concentration of local microorganisms (MOL) M. bracteata (no,5%,10%). The results showed that the application of 25% inorganic fertilizer in the main nursery provide of oil palm seedling growth equal to 100% inorganic fertilizers. The application of 15% oil palm empty fruit bunches compost in the main nursery of regosol soil can replace inorganic fertilizer. Granting MOL Mucuna bracteata with a concentration of 5% to 10% have not been able to increase the growth of oil palm seedlings in the main nursery. Granting of oil palm empty fruit bunches can increase inorganic fertilization efficiency in the main nursery of oil palm. Keywords: fertilizer, efb, MOL, oil palm seedlings, main nursery

Abstract

Abstract— This study aims to determine the effect of the application of various materials and the concentration of compost tea on the growth of oil palm seedlings in the pre-nursery. This research was conducted in Pasar Lembu Village, Air Joman District, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra Province. The study was conducted from March to May 2021. This study used a factorial experimental method arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors, namely the various of compost tea material consisting of 3 levels (kascing, cow compost and goat compost) and the concentration of compost tea consisting of 3 levels, namely chemical fertilizers Urea and NPK (as control), 1:3, 1:5, 1:10. From these two factors, 12 treatment combinations were obtained with each treatment repeated 6 times, so that 72 plant samples were obtained. The research data were analyzed by analysis of variance at the 5% level. Significantly different data will be further tested with DMRT (Duncan's Multiple Range Test) at the 5% test level. Parameters observed in this study were plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, crown fresh weight, shoot dry weight, root fresh weight, root dry weight and root length. The results showed that there was no significant interaction between the various of material and the concentration of compost tea on the growth of oil palm seedlings in the pre-nursery. The various materials of compost tea gave the same effect on all research parameters, as well as the concentration of compost tea. Giving compost tea concentration of 1:10 is more efficient and has been able to replace chemical fertilisers of oil palm seedlings in the pre nursery.

Abstract

The research was conducted at Kebun Pendidikan dan Penelitian (KP 2) of the Yogyakarta Stiper Agricultural Institute located in Wedomartani Village, Depok District, Sleman Regency, D.I.Y with an altitude of 118 meters above sea level. The study began in February 2022 until May 2022. This research was carried out using a two-factor experimental method arranged in a Completely Randomized Design: the first factor was the concentration of eco enzym which consisted of 4 levels, namely, control (0 ml/liter), 1 ml/ liter, 2 ml/liter, and 3 ml/liter. The second factor was the dose of P fertilizer which consisted of 4 levels, namely: control (0 g/plant), 1.5 g/plant, 2.5 g/plant, and 3.5 g/plant. From these two factors, 4 x 4 = 16 treatment combinations were obtained, with each treatment being repeated 4 times so that the number of seeds obtained was 16 x 4 = 64 experimental plants. The research data were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) at the 5% level of significance. If there is a significant effect, the DMRT follow-up test is carried out at a significant level of 5%. The results showed that there was a significant interaction between the concentration of eco enzym treatment and the dose of P fertilizer on the root nodule weight parameter. The results showed that the combination treatment with eco enzym concentration of 3 ml/liter and P fertilizer dose of 1.5 gram/plant gave the best root nodule weight of Mucuna bracteata. The concentration of eco enzym and the dose of P fertilizer had the same effect on the growth of Mucuna bracteata.
