Abstract

This study is a qualitative research, using fenomenology approach. The data was collected by deep interview method. There are four variables contributed in this study which are communication, resourcers, disposition or motivation of implementor, and bereaucratic structure.There are 8 midwives as an informant involving in this study. The result of this study shows that informant are 32 until 57 years old, the length of working experience for 12 until 37 years, and graduated from D 3 dan 4 of midwifery program. All of midwives have been exposured of antenatal education classes training. The classes have been diseminated by Primary Health Service and Hospital by putting announcement on board. Structures of Organisation were not completely yet in Primary Health Service nor in Hositals. On the other hand, there are no found a structure of antenatal education classes organisation at an independent midwives.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to analyze factors influencing the coverage of clinical competency target of midwifery student of Diploma III in relating to midwifery clinical practice. This study is analytical study with cross-sectional approach. Population in this study is all of the third year's students at Midwifery diploma III of Semarang. There are 80 students involving in this study that has finished midwifery clinical practice. Technical sampling which was run in this study is accidental sampling. The study shows that there are relations between skill competency before clinical practice, preconference running program, and midwifery running progress, student attitude, skill evaluation, academic supervising, and clinical instructor supervising to the coverage of clinical competency target.

Abstract

The aim of this tsudy is to know the difference result of perineal massage and Kegel exercise toward preventing of perineal laceration during labor in the Independent Midwives are close to the District of Semarang. This study is pre experimental research with posttest only design. The population in this stdy is the third trimester pregnant woman who was more than 35 weeks gestational age. The subject of this study were concisted of 18 women as a group one who have done perineal massage beforehand. However, the same number of them have done Kegel exercise from 35 weeks until at term as a group two. The sampling used in this study  was a simple random sampling. A group one was tought with perineal massage from 35 weeks until at term. On the other hand, group two was tought with Kegel exercise from 35 weeks until at term. Data about perineal laceration was collected from partogram when they delivered baby. The data was analisd by Man Whitney test. The result of this studi is 77,8 % of group woman who done perineal massage faced first degree of perineal laceration. However, there are only 50 % woman who done Kegel exercise, got first degree of perineal laceration. There is a difference results of perineal massage and Kegel exercise toward preventing of perineal laceration during labor in the Independent Midwives are close to the District of Semarang, which is showed by p value at 0,037. Care provider especially midwive has to service the pregnant woman and encourage to them for doing perineal massage from 35 weeks gestational age until at term.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of vitamin A for 6 to 12 months baby toward the number of morbidity rate. This was a quasy experimental with posttest case control group design. The total number of sampel was 40 babies age 6 to 12 monts. The data was analised by an independen t-test. The result shows that the illness frequency of baby consumed Vitamin A was 0,55 times less than babies who did not. Baby who consumed less vitamin A has only 1, 8 days of illness, and 6,75 days for babys who did not consume Vitamin A. Babies who consumed vitamin A only encountered 0,7 kinds of diseases, while 2,10 kinds of diseases encountered by non-consumer babies. In conclusion, serving Vitamin A is an effective step in reducing the morbidity for 6 to 12 months babies with a frecuency of illness of p=0,001. Moreover the length of illness period and the kinds of diseases have the same p=0,0001. Health care provider especilly midwives have to encourage women to ensure that the baby is suplemented with itamin A at February and August every year.
