Abstract

The aim of this research was to know effect of the family support toward patient compliance within taking tuberculosis medication at BPKM the city of Pekalongan. This research was descriptive correlation with cross sectional design. Questionnaire was used as an instrument that was distributed to 60 respondents. Data was analyzed by Chi square test. The result of the research showed that there was an effect of the family support among aspects of support social , moral, material, and support of motivation for TB drug compliance at BPKM Pekalongan city (p value:0,000 – 0,003). To increase of patient compliance, it is recomendated for family to give endorsement within TBC medication, family also gives concern and prevent TBC transmission in order to decrease the cases.

Abstract

This study was explanatory research with cross sectional. Sampling was taken at adult inpatient ward that consist of Jlamprang ward, sekar jagad, truntum, maternity room, and for  patient post performing catheter who were control at surgical polyclinic RSU Bendan. Quota sampling method  was used for a period one month (1 – 30 September 2011). There were 34 respondents, and the analysis was used Chi – square continued with logistic regression. Only three independent variable had correlation that were age (p= 0,045), gender (p= 0.039), and infection of urine tract (p= 0.024). The dominant variable was infection of urine tract that gave contribution 3.95 times causing urine incontinence. Researchers’recomendation for nursing  is to give more attention on sterility  when performing and caring patient who are attached dower catheter to minimalized occurence infection of urine tract.

Abstract

The research objective is to describe about high-calorie diet to increase blood sugar levels in people with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Population and sample in this study are patients with type 2 Diabetes at the health center Bendan Pekalongan. This is a descriptive analytic study with cross-sectional design and analyzed using chi square test. The results show that there is an effect of high-calorie diet in the increase of blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus in PHC Bendan Pekalongan (p value 0.018). To improve the adherence of patients in the treatment program and manage blood sugar levels, it is advisable for patients to comply with dietary adjustments that have been recommended by the officers in the scope of type, quantity and schedule of the diet. The health workers are also expected to continue to provide motivation, information and health education for patients and their families to improve their knowledge and awareness so that the patient's blood sugar levels can be controlled properly.
