Abstract

This study focuses on the contribution of Islamic boarding schools in producing various entrepreneurial cadres. This research is a qualitative research with the type of case study research. Sources of research data from primary data sources (students, teachers, kyai) and secondary data (documentation). Data collection techniques are interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis techniques with three forms of analysis, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The conclusion of the research is that the portrait of entrepreneur education is imbued with five souls which are implemented in every step, movement, in the curriculum and education system of the santri together with the kyai caregivers and their assistants, the five souls are sincerity, simplicity, independence, brotherhood and freedom. Entrepreneur education methods are uswah, suhbah and da'wah methods. The supporting factors are the 24-hour mukim system, the cooperation of teachers and students, control and evaluation by the leadership. The inhibiting factors are facilities and infrastructure as well as costs.

Abstract

Destructive behavior towards nature adversely affects environmental damage. The root of this crisis lies in the structure of the value of human life in interacting with nature. This research aims at studying a philosophical foundation, model, aspect of environmental cultured education, and it’s implication on the student’s competencies in three schools. It employes phenomenology. Data were gained from deep-interview, observation, and document analysis. The information is determined with a purposive sampling technique. While data were analyzed descriptive-exploratively, involving data reduction, data display, and conclusions. This research finds that the vision and mission of the school become the main foundation in growing awareness of environmental cultured education. The model of environmental cultured education is developed integratively through all subjects. The aspect of education was formulated in the Adiwiyata programs dan Educotourism with participatory and sustainable principles. The implications for student competencies including demonstrating environmental cultured attitudes and behavior, the cognitive understanding of environmental education, and developing in own students’ skills, creativity, and productivity.

Abstract

The occurrence of violence in education is caused by the poor education system. Considering the thought of the Islamic educational figure is a wise act because his thought is inspired by the values of Islamic teachings as the religion of raḥmah li al-'ālamīn. This study employed a qualitative approach. This study found several important findings. First, the concept of child-friendly education includes three terms including affection (al-raḥmah), graceful (al-rifq wa al-layn), and justice (al-‘adālah). Second, child-friendly education methods consist of education with exemplary, education with customs, education with advice, education with attention, and education with punishment. Furthermore, the implication to establish humanist teachers is to develop teachers’ four competency domains including humanistic values, treating students affectively, graceful, and justice, as well as protecting them from all acts of violence. By doing this, the teachers will become more religious, professional, and inspirative.

Abstract

The Islamic boarding school education needs to be well constructed through designing of an education system that is adapted to the demands of educational quality in the current 4.0. industry era. Through qualitative research approach dan data collection technique using indepth interview, observation, and documentation, this research found: Firstly, the quality management of Islamic boarding school based on information technology is based on the idea that Nurul faces a transition period and requires managerial work which is an integral part of all pesantren elements to realize the pesantren's vision and mission, as well as be a pilot project in the quality management based on information technology in the 4.0 industry era, especially in the East Java region. Secondly, to improve organizational performance, Nurul Jadid apply managerial distribution with a top down and buttom integration scheme, with patterns of synchronization and pooling of resources. This strategy is balanced by reforming the pesantren management infrastructure such as providing a Local Area Network (LAN) for integrating data among many institutions, optimalizing websites, on-line services to santri and wali santri, such as SMS Gateway, e- payment and e-budgeting. Third, to maintain the values of Islamic boarding school in the dynamics of information technology-based quality management, Nurul Jadid Islamic boarding school always strives to be consistent in carrying out its education system based on the basic values of the pesantren through the internalization of the trilogy of santri and the five awareness.

Abstract

The diversity of cultures, races, ethnic groups, and religions has great potential to cause conflict. This condition indicates that the nationalism values of in the community decreased. This research examines the internalization of nationalism values through the maulid tradition for jamaah Majlis Maulid wa al-Ta’lim Riyadlul Jannah Madura. By using a qualitative approach with a phenomenological type, this study found that nationalism has an important meaning for the jamaah in building a peaceful life, strengthening brotherhood among the community and maintaining the integrity of NKRI. Internalization of the value of nationalism in the maulid tradition is done by reading the shalawat simth aldurar and chanting nasyid contained these values. The spirit of nationalism is seen in maintaining akhlak in following the shalawat readings, mutual respect, and a sense of belonging to the majlis and the caring attitude of the jamaah in helping others in the social activities
