Abstract

ABSTRACTWriting is a form of embodiment of indirect communication. It is required to pay attention to the structure associated with the elements of writing so that readers can understand the message conveyed by the writer. This study is intended to identify the grammatical and discourse competence of the students in writing argumentative paragraphs. The research used was qualitative descriptive approach with analytical method. The data of this study were taken from the students’ assignment papers related to writing argumentative paragraph in Komunitas Cerdas Course. There were twenty task sheets resulting from students’ writings. All of this data were analyzed in terms of grammar and discourse.   The data collection techniques used was written tests. In analyzing the data, the writer used the theory of Miles and Huberman, so the form of study was given in short description. The results of the analysis showed that students already had sufficient competence in grammar or discourse, further, in general, the students already had grammatical competence and sufficient discourse competence. However, there were some aspects in grammar that needed to get more attentions, such as  the ability of the students to arrange words into good sentences.ABSTRAKMenulis adalah bentuk perwujudan komunikasi tidak langsung. Hal ini diperlukan untuk memperhatikan struktur yang terkait dengan unsur-unsur penulisan sehingga pembaca dapat memahami pesan yang disampaikan oleh penulis. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengidentifikasi kompetensi gramatikal dan wacana siswa dalam menulis paragraf argumentatif. Penelitian ini juga memberikan koreksi kesalahan siswa dalam menulis paragraf argumentatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode analitik. Data penelitian ini adalah kertas tugas siswa terkait dengan menulis paragraf argumentasi di Kursus Komunitas Cerdas. Ada dua puluh lembar tugas yang merupakan hasil tulisan siswa. Semua data ini dianalisis dalam hal tata bahasa dan wacana. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes tertulis. Teknik analisis data, penulis menggunakan teori Miles dan Huberman, sehingga bentuk penelitian diberikan dalam deskripsi singkat. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa siswa sudah memiliki kompetensi yang cukup dalam tata bahasa atau wacana. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, secara umum siswa sudah memiliki kompetensi tata bahasa dan kompetensi wacana yang cukup. Tetapi ada beberapa aspek dalam tata bahasa yang perlu mendapat perhatian lebih, sedangkan kompetensi wacana, kemampuan siswa untuk mengatur kata-kata menjadi kalimat yang baik masih perlu banyak peningkat. Abstract

This study is intended to examine the sound change of borrowing word of foreign language in Javanese which is found in Panjebar Semangat magazine. The data is taken from Panjebar Semangat magazine 27th edition on July 7, 2018 and checked using old Javanese dictionary. This study belongs to descriptive qualitative research and used Simak method and Non Participant Observation in collecting the data. The data analysis is done by using Padan method. The result of the study reveals three sound changes of vowels sound and four phonological rules. Then, there are four types of sound change and four phonological rule of consonant sound. The result showed that the sound change of borrowing word in Javanese is influenced by the differences of phonological system between Javanese and the foreign language. Keywords: borrowing word, sound change, distinctive feature, phonology.

The Javanese language belongs to language which has unique phonological system. There are so many foreign language has influenced the development of Javanese. This study is intended to examine the sound change of borrowing word of foreign language in Javanese which is found in Panjebar Semangat magazine. Abstract

This study tries to explain in detail related to the differences between concept of evaluation on KTSP and 2013 Curriculum. the curriculum may is referred to as a set of plans and arrangements concerning the objectives, content, and lesson materials and methods used as guidelines for the implementation of learning activities to achieve specific educational objective. Evaluation Curriculum is a systematic study of the benefits, the suitability of effectiveness and efficiency of the curriculum applied. Focus of this study is describing the comparison of concept evaluation in KTSP and 2013 Curriculum and also describing the strength and weakness of both curriculums. The method used by the writer belongs to qualitative descriptive. The result of the study explains in short description and table comparison. Based on the e result of this study, it shows that between curriculum KTSP and 2013 both have their own goals. So that, between KTSP and 2013 Curriculum have different aspect to assess. So the evaluation between KTSP and 2013 Curriculum is relative different. As the conclusion, the curriculum can run well depend on the teachers themselves. Although we create an excellent curriculum, but if it handled by less qualified teacher, it will not produce adequate results. Conversely, in the hands of qualified teachers, the usual curriculum will produce good results. Thus, the existence of a new curriculum, as the Curriculum 2013 not necessary.
