Abstract

Unconducive working conditions triggered fatigue and anxiety for the workers, such as an increase in mental workload. Mental workload is a work load that arises and can be seen from the work that has been carried out, which is formed cognitively (mind). Generally, mental workload is the difference between mental work demands and mental abilities possessed by the worker concerned. The level of workload of workers can be determined by applying workload analysis. One of the mental workload analysis methods is the Rating Scale Mental Effort (RSME) which is a method of mental workload measurement. The aims of this research are to determine the level of mental workload of workers, to identify the main causes of mental workload in the sugar production division, and also to provide suggestions to the company on the basis of identifying the mental workloads. The results of the study using workload analysis showed that the mental workload was quite high, i.e., the morning shift reached 97.3, the afternoon shift reached 101.8 and the night shift reached 99.66. The mental workload occurred due to continuous activities such as the sugar production process and excessively hot environment, as well as too high company targets.

Abstract

The fish drying process aims to preserve fish, so as to reduce losses due to the spoilage process. There is sunlight, the drying process does not experience obstacles, however if it is raining, it will take a longer time, and give a smell effect that disturbs the surrounding environment for a relatively long time. Fish dryer designed to work automatically, aims to speed up drying time using fuzzy logic, thus minimizing rot and air pollution due to the smell of the fish drying process. The design of the tool used experimental methods through literature study as a source of study, planning and manufacturing of fish drying equipment consists of hardware using the Arduino Mega 2560 microcontroller, temperature sensor of DHT 22, load cell sensor, humidity sensor, fan, heating element and LCD and software using the Fuzzy Mamdani method. The results obtained are the weight of the fish that has undergone a drying process using an automatic drying device, namely 500 grams, indicating that the drying process is 50% of the initial weight of 1000 grams, with a drying time of 4.48 hours, while drying time by drying or manually takes 45 hours. Shows the control system using fuzzy logic on fish drying equipment,  speed up the drying time about 10 hours faster than the drying time by drying in the sun.  So that it can increase the amount of dry fish production, reduce the smell in the environment around the drying, because the fish are in the dryer closed.

Abstract

Human resources are one of the resources that exist in the organization which consists of people and their activities this is the most resources compared to other resources. At the Camming Sugar Factory, human resources are the main means to achieve the desired goals of the company, especially in the production section in order to achieve maximum production results with the aim of maintaining the survival of the company and employees being able to perform optimally in the form of work productivity. To achieve this goal, qualified human resources are needed, one way is through a good and correct selection process. The performance of employees at the camming sugar factory is said to be less than good. This can be seen from the conditions that have occurred in the Camming sugar factory, namely the threat of bankruptcy with an average loss of more than Rp. 100 billion per year due to production results which are only 30 percent of the maximum potential since 2001. Based on the parameters that cause losses at the Camming Sugar Factory which is thought to be caused by weak management which is considered to be the main trigger, it is necessary to research and review what factors influenced the decline of the factory..The method used in this research is linear regression method, in which the method can determine the hypothesis and the relationship between the independent variable and the bound variable. The research results obtained from the coeficients table obtained a significance value of 0.000 0.05, so it can be concluded that the Selection variable (X) affects the Performance Variable (Y). From the statistical calculation of the t test, t count is 6,731 from t table then H1 is accepted and Ho is rejected. This means that there is a significant and positive effect of the employee selection process on the performance of employees at the Camming Sugar Factory. Thus the hypothesis is proven
