Abstract

The problem that raised in this research is correlation diction mastery and speaking intereset with the in comprehebsion speech. To reach the purpose of the research above, the researcher use correlational methos, it means that the data collected after all the even happen. There were there questioner used to collect the data The findings are as follows: (1) there is a positive correlation between mastery diction with  ability comprehebsion by correlation coefficient of 0.775, (2) there is  a positive correlation between intereset speaking with speech arranging ability with correlation coefficient 0.649, (3) there is a positive correlation mastery diction and interest comprehebsion speech with narration speaking ability with a correlation coefficient of 0.807. Therefore, the speech arranging ability could be enhanced by increasing master diction dan interest arranging. Permasalahan yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini adalah hubungan penguasaan diksi  dan minat berbicara dengan kemampuan berpidato. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode korelasional, artinya data dikumpulkan setelah semua kejadian yang dipermasalahkan berlangsung. Hasil penelitian menujukkan: (1) penguasaan diksi berhubungan positif dengan kemampuan berpidato yang ditunjukkan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,775 0,535 (rtabel); (2) minat berbicara berhubungan positif dengan kemampuan berpidato yang ditunjukkan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,649 0,361 (rtabel); dan (3) penguasaan diksi dan minat berbicara secara bersama-sama berhubungan positif dengan kemampuan berbicara koefisien sebesar 0,807. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan secara umum bahwa kesimpuan adalah kemampuan berpidato memiliki hubungan positif dengan penguasaan diksi dan minat berbicara, baik secara sendiri-sendiri maupun bersama-sama.Kata kunci: penguasaan diksi, minat berbicara, kemampuan berpidato.

Abstract

Students’ vocabulary mastery is influenced by many factors. One of them is the technique, which the teachers use in teaching. In this research, the writer applied Frayer Model Strategy to teach vocabulary in the classroom. Then the writer analyzed the result of the technique in order to know its influence. The research was conducted at the eighth class of SMPN 26 Bandar Lampung in 2017/2018. The students of X1 were as the sample that was taught by using Frayer Model Strategy and X2 that was taught by using conventional technique. In this case, the writer used two classes as the sample, the first class as experimental class (29 students) and the second class as a control class (28 students) from 265 students of eight classes. The sample was gotten by random sampling technique and the research based on the experiment method. In collecting, the writer used objective test that was multiple-choice test contained 40 questions. The technique of analysis data in this research used product moment formulation. The result of the research shows that there is a significant influence of Frayer Model Strategy towards Students’ Vocabulary Mastery at the eighth class of SMPN 26 Bandar Lampung in 2017/2018. It showed from the distribution list with df = 55 obtained the t ratio t0.95 or significance level of 5% and t- ratio to 0.99 or significance level  of 1% is equal to 2.02 and 2.70. They are less than t-test 7.16. Finally, the writer concluded that there is a significant influence of Frayer Model Strategy towards students’ vocabulary mastery at the eighth class of SMPN 26 Bandar Lampung in 2017/2018. dx.doi.org/10.23960/aksara/v21i2.pp145-155

Abstract

: Speaking skills are skills that enable us to communicate effectively. This skill has the most important goal for student success, especially for class XI of SMA because they will face the era of globalization in the world. As for the problems faced by class XI students of SMA Darus Su'ada Al-Ahad, most of them are not able to speak English. In this study, researchers applied the HOTS method in debate to improve students' speaking skills, especially in class XI of the SMA. By using the HOTS method and debate which is a learning concept where students are given the opportunity to start speaking through the provision of stimulus material so that students think critically, creatively, collaboratively, and communicatively, then students are able to present the ideas that are in their minds. This research is said to be successful; it can be seen from the results of the comparison of pre-test and post-test scores. Here, the researcher collects data through a mixed-method in which the researcher obtains data from the results of observations first and then from the results of the comparison of pre-test and post-test scores. As for the benefits of this research, firstly for a teacher using this method will not make students feel bored in following the learning process. Second, for other researchers, the results of this study can be used as a reference if they want to do similar research.

Abstract

PQRST technique is used to improve students’ reading skill at the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Bandar Mataram. In this research, the writer took Classroom Action Research (CAR). This reasearch conducted 31 students including 15 male and 16 female students. The writer devided into two classes and included four stages such as; planning, action, observation adn refletion. In a pre-cycle, the writer assess identifying initial reading, challages, guiding targeted intructional strategies. For collecting data, writer took interviews, field notes, observation checklists and reading test showed clear improvements. Based on the data, the writer got the average learnig activity score rose from 3.42 (“fair”) in Cycle 1 to 3.95 (“fair to good”) in Cycle 2. Reading scores also improved significantly: the pre-cycle average of 53.19 (9.67% meeting the Minimum Mastery Criterion, MMC) increased to 71.61 in Cycle 2, with 61.29% of students achieving or surpassing the MMC. In conclusion, the PQRST technique effectively enhanced students’ engagement and reading comprehension, though further refinements may be needed to reach the full mastery criterion of 75% for the class.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan daya saing Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) di Desa Mojopuro, khususnya industri tahu yang menjadi potensi ekonomi utama Dusun Nglorog. Para pengrajin tahu di wilayah ini telah lama menghadapi tantangan dalam menjaga kebersihan, mengembangkan identitas produk, dan mempersiapkan usaha mereka agar memenuhi standar pasar modern seperti Program Pangan Bergizi Gratis (PMB). Oleh karena itu, program pendampingan dilaksanakan dengan fokus pada revitalisasi pabrik tahu, pembuatan logo digital sebagai identitas merek, penataan area produksi melalui pemasangan papan nama, dan dokumentasi proses renovasi untuk keperluan evaluasi dan publikasi. Metode yang digunakan meliputi kunjungan lapangan, sosialisasi, dan pendampingan langsung kepada para pelaku usaha, dengan melibatkan mahasiswa sebagai fasilitator. Kegiatan ini didasarkan pada teori pemberdayaan masyarakat yang menekankan partisipasi aktif dan teori daya saing Porter yang menekankan pentingnya inovasi dan efisiensi dalam meningkatkan kualitas usaha. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan kesadaran di kalangan pelaku usaha mengenai pentingnya identitas produk, kebersihan, dan kesiapan administratif dalam memanfaatkan peluang integrasi ke pasar modern. Lebih lanjut, pendekatan panutan melalui wirausaha muda (Mas Aldi) terbukti efektif dalam mendorong partisipasi UMKM lain di Mojopuro. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model bagi program pemberdayaan serupa di sektor industri lokal lainnya.
