<![CDATA[This research aimed to know the effectiveness of direct instruction model with problem posing approach viewed by creative thinking ability. This research design was pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this research was all students of grade VIII of SMP Negeri 20 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2014/2015 that consist of 8 classes. The samples of this research were students of VIIIC and VIIID class which were taken by purposive random sampling technique.The instrument of this research was essay test of critical thinking ability. Based on data analysis, it was concluded that direct instruction model with problem posing approach was more effective than conventional model to increase the creative thinking ability but the percentage of students who reached the mastery learning was not more than 60%.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran langsung dengan pendekatan problem posing ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Desain yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 20 Bandarlampung semester genap tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 yang terdistribusi ke dalam 8 kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIIC dan VIIID yang ditentukan dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Instrumen pada penelitian ini berupa soal uraian mengenai kemampuan berpikir kreatif. Berdasarkan analisis data, disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran langsung dengan pendekatan problem posing lebih efektif daripada pembelajaran konvensional dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif, tetapi persentase siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar tidak lebih dari 60%.Kata kunci: berpikir kreatif, pembelajaran langsung, problem posing]]>
