This quasi experimental research aimed to find out the influence of Problem Based Learning model on increasing students mathematical communication skill. The population of this research was students of grade VII in SMP Negeri 1 Punggur in academic year of 2016/2017 that were distributed into 8 classes. The samples of this research was students of VII.1 and VII.2 classes which were chosen by purposive sampling technique. The design of this research was pretest-posttest control group design. Research data were obtained through students mathematical communination skill test. The data analysis of this research used t test. Based on the result of the research, it could be concluded that problem based learning model was influence on increasing students mathematical communication skill.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Problem Based Learning terhadap peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Punggur tahun pelajaran 2016/2017 yang terdistribusi dalam 8 kelas. Sampel penelitian adalah kelas VII.1 dan VII.2 yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttest control group design. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan uji t. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model problem based learning berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa.Kata kunci: komunikasi matematis, pengaruh, problem based learning
