Abstract

Quasi experimental research to find the influence of think pair share student’s mathematical communication. The population of this research was students grade VII Junior High School 4 Tulang Bawang Tengah academic year 2017/2018 that distributed eight class, from VII A-VII H. The sampling cluster random sampling technique and it was chosen students VII A and VII B sample. The design used in research the pretest-posttest control group design. Research data through test of ma­thematical communication. The data analysis which was used Mann-Whitney U. The result of this research show that enhancement of mathe­matical communication student who follow learning with think pair share higher than mathematical communication of student who follow learning with convensional.  Based the results and work­ing through of research, the conclusion of the research is the TPS influence to student’s mathematical communication. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran think pair share terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa.  Populasi penelitian siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 4 Tulang Bawang Tengah tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 terdistribusi dalam delapan  kelas, VII A-VII H. Pengam­bilan sam­­pel dilakukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling kelas VII A dan VII B sebagai sampel. Desain penelitian menggunakan pretest-posttest control group design. Data penelitian diperoleh menggunakan instrumen tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji Mann-WhitneyU. Hasil penelitian me­nunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran TPS lebih tinggi dari kemampuan komunikasi siswa yang me­ngikuti pembelajaran konven­sional. Berdasarkan hasil dan pembahasan, diperoleh simpulan bahwa pembelajaran TPS ber­pengaruh terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Kata kunci: komunikasi, pengaruh, think pair share
